Miracle Galaxy (ANIME)

Recommended Posts

Well, Unfortunate Report is pretty straightforward. They do their Battle Phase, and then can either start their Battle Phase over, or go to Main Phase 2.

This card is a bit odd, but certainly workable. And I actually really like the idea behind it. Unlike some anime plot device cards, this one is actually extremely logical for Kaito's Deck style, and works extremely well with his strategies.

Even when Kaito was an active Number Hunter, his style of play involved bringing out Galaxy-Eyes and rapidly crushing the opponent with Galaxy-Eyes' effect and ATK. There was one noticeable weakness with Galaxy-Eyes, even if it was only briefly referenced in the anime. If Galaxy-Eyes uses its effect, the Xyz monster is not destroyed. Since anime Numbers can't be destroyed by battle against Galaxy-Eyes, they can be switched to DEF and turtle for a short time. Astral told Yuma this probably wouldn't work (in episode 14), as Kaito demonstrated with Photon Wind that his Deck could compensate for the fact Numbers couldn't be destroyed.

If Galaxy-Eyes attacks and absorbs an Xyz's Overlay Units, this card would let Galaxy-Eyes, now boosted by the absorbed Overlays, attack the Xyz again for damage (and destruction if it's not a Number). If Galaxy-Eyes attacks a weaker monster and deals damage, this card would let it do it again, essentially doubling the damage inflicted. And this card doesn't force the monster to attack another monster, so Galaxy-Eyes could destroy a monster, then attack directly.

In 4000 LP Duels, and Kaito's tendency to bring out Galaxy-Eyes early, this card would be unbelievably good.
