Northern Sage
Activate this card by targeting 1 face-up monster on the field; the original ATK of that target is halved. When that target leaves the field, destroy this card. Discuss.
heraldry_lord
Just going by the text of that card, I think Shrink is better as far as that type of effect goes.

玄魔の王
Shrink is iffy, but Gale is decidedly better.
Sander
Shrink is iffy, but Gale is decidedly better. How in the hell is Shrink "iffy"? This is a Continuous Trap Card, Shrink is a Quick-Play Spell Card. It's obvious which one of these two are better.

It's obvious which one of these two are better. Because Shrink is a mediocre card to begin with. Gale is better than both because a) it hits total ATK, and b) it has a body attached to that effect. evilfusion
Because Shrink is a mediocre card to begin with. Gale is better than both because a) it hits total ATK, and B) it has a body attached to that effect. It was never of question of whether Gale is better. It's a comparison of Shrink vs this card. In context, we'd only look at S/Ts or Quick Effects, because the advantage of a Trap/Quick Play is when you can use it.
玄魔の王
My point was a comparisson of effects that halve ATK, but conceded. Even so, they're not that good.
D.A._Sakuyamon
Hmm, it doesn't say the halve attack gets removed if this card is removed so there isn't a point of using myst after it's effect is already resolved. Though at the same time myst makes this fizzle if chained to the activation.
The Hounds Of Anubis
If a card has to be compared to Shrink, it's not worth discussing.
