Traptrix need the speed, but maybe she's doing too much? Anyway, I FINALLY FOUND CARD ART FOR A TRAPTRIX MONSTER!

This card is unaffected by the effects of "Hole" Normal Trap Cards. You can banish 1 "Hole" Normal Trap Card in your Graveyard; Special Summon 1 "Traptrix" monster from your hand, except "Traptrix Arachne". You can Tribute this card; add 1 "Traptrix" monster from your Deck to your hand.

I must say that I liked the name Mesmerizing Maneaters better...but that is beside the point...

First off, kudos for the pic, definitely fitting for the archetype and card, and all in all that is something to be proud of. This combos well with Myrmeleo, allowing to utilize its S/T destruction more easily. It also allows for faster combos with Nepenthes. In truth, that is what it is I guess...a faster Nepenthes. It isn't an overly creative card, but it definitely isn't a bad one. Would add some much needed speed to their deck, making the Maneate...err...Traptrixes more competitive. Nice job.

Okay, I'm digging this card! Great job!

Artwork/OCG:

Not much to say here, the card is near flawless, if not entirely perfect when it comes to grammar. Further, I understand that it would be difficult finding art for a traptrix monster, and the fact that you got something this good is extremely pleasing.

Effect Usefulness:

I've tried to play the Traptrix archetype on DN, but I haven't had anything remotely close to success with them. Ignoring my lack of skill, part of the reason is that the archetype itself is pretty weak. They lack swarming power, yet each of their effects separately are indispensable. Normally, this means that you want to have a variety of Traptrix monsters out at once; however, that's near impossible. Nepenthes is the only swarming-capable monster, and even then, the condition is difficult to fulfull. The card you created, however, that has it all; you can summon from your hand for an easy-to-fulfill cost. As long as you have this monster and any other traptrix in your hand, suddenly, the archetype is playable! Plus, the fact that it doubles as a monster searcher is profoundly useful.

Effect Balance:

Either you worked really hard on this card or you're just a natural, since there is near perfect balance. Understandably, the lack of a "once-per-turn" limitation might seem to be easily exploited, but the odds of having many traptrix monsters in your hand to summon and equally many traps in your graveyard to banish are slim to none; basically, the effect of your card isn't exploitable, which is GREAT. However, there is one part of your card that could perhaps benefit from changes; the last effect that lets you search for another Traptrix monster might fare better if the cost was discarding and not tributing. Basically, I feel that tributing is too steep a cost for an archetype that has little swarming power; hence, my recommendation is to change the last sentence to as follows: You can discard this card to add 1 "Traptrix" monster from your Deck to your hand.

Effect Playability:

The effect itself is very playable within the archetype, and if it existed, I doubt any Traptrix player would overlook it. It would pretty much become an instant staple as it would be immensely useful and versatile. However, there is one part of this card that makes it really unrealistic and therefore unplayable: its ATK and DEF. Its not that big of a deal, but if you don't fix it, I can't say its the most realistic Traptrix addition. Basically, the change that you have make, by all means, is to modify the ATK and DEF so they add up to 2800. It may be a minute detail, but hey, everything counts :)

Miscellaneous Comments:

Aside from the ATK/DEF thing, I love this card. Its balanced, powerful, and playable - everything that matters. Actually, as a side note, I was wondering how well a card like the one below would work with the card you created. I think the two cards would make great combos, but this is just a little one of my epiphanies XD

Traptrix Hole

Trap (Normal)

Add 1 "Traptrix" monster from your Deck to your hand. If this card is banished while in your Graveyard: Special Summon 1 "Traptrix" monster from your Deck.

Rating:

Artwork/OCG: 10/10

Effect Usability: 10/10

Effect Balance: 9.5/10

Effect Playability and Realistic Quality: 7/10 (it would be a 10/10 if you changed the ATK/DEF)
