Jord200
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Number_94:_Crystal_Zero_the_Polar_Ice_Princess 2 Level 5 monsters Cannot be destroyed by battle except with "Number" monsters. During either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, thentarget 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; that target's ATK is halved, until the end of the Battle Phase. Good news is that its in the pack. Not like we didn't see that coming though. Bad news, if Abyss Splash got the materials changed to WATER specific, this most likely will too.....Would it still be useful? Discuss.
~British Soul~
Good news is that its in the pack. Not like we didn't see that coming though. This is the least surprising news I've heard all day quite frankly. I was waiting on the cards' confirmation in the pack.
玄魔の王
If it was changed to halve all their monsters' ATK and DEF I'd be cool with it, but it's so weak for a Rank 5 it isn't worth it.
Lonk
Considering that meh Xyz Numbers made into irl cards tend to get buffed and the opposite happens to ungodly good numbers, we could probably see Crystal Zero getting a buff in effect. Toffee.
I wouldn't doubt it if Crystal Zero ended up having the same materials, and the same "halve all battle damage" drawback as Abyss Splash.
evilfusion
I wouldn't doubt it if Crystal Zero ended up having the same materials, and the same "halve all battle damage" drawback as Abyss Splash. That actually seems like a really bad idea, and pretty unlikely. The reason Abyss Splash got the "halve damage" drawback is because doubling ATK means it potentially could deal a massive amount of damage. The same isn't true with halving another monster's ATK, because the amount of increased damage is dependant on the monster's ATK relative to Crystal Zero's. The higher it was before being halved, the more damage, but it's not nearly as powerful as a 2400 becoming 4800. A direct attack by Abyss Splash is 4800 damage. A direct attack from Crystal Zero is still only 2400. A 4800 Abyss Splash against a monster has a huge range. Crystal Zero against a monster can be anywhere from 0 to 2400, which is perfectly reasonable.

At that score, she could double battle damage she deals and it'd be okay.
evilfusion
I didn't remember. But that just makes it even more unlikely it'll get that much of a nerf.
Lonk
Seriously, did everyone here ignore the fact that it has a good chance of getting buffed? Might come with an effect negation or a burn eff (lol).
evilfusion
Seriously, did everyone here ignore the fact that it has a good chance of getting buffed? Might come with an effect negation or a burn eff (lol). What kind of buff would it need/get? Even the buffed effects of Numbers tend to still follow the idea of the anime versions. I suppose it's theoretically possible that Number 94 has more effects than the anime showed, since it was only played once, but I think its card text was seen, and it didn't. It may either: A) Drop the ATK to 0 all-together B) Attack twice to compensate for its low ATK in addition to the weakening C) [s]offer a burnt sacrifice to a cow god of the ocean[/s]Have an additional effect of shifting the battle position and negating the effect of the monster. I don't know, but throwing out some ideas that can conceptually match Crystal Zero's eff.
Toffee.
I only really mentioned the same drawbacks/gimmicks since Zero and Splash are a couple(they basically are), so it would seem appropriate despite Zero getting the short end of the stick.I dunno', it was a weird idea anyway. Toffee.
Decided to bump this topic.Artwork + Actual effect:2 Level 5 WATER monstersDuring either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster on the field; that target's ATK is halved, until your End Phase. We all knew it would end up needing WATER Materials. But aside from that, it's effect stayed the same(more or less), which is rather amusing.
玄魔の王
So... Aside from losing the Number clause, the OCG effect is unchanged from the anime. No OPT clause means you can quarter an enemy monster's ATK, but the material restriction and the pathetic ATK makes her not worth it.
Lonk
It got a slight buff. Now, if you use it during your opponent's BP, the monster's ATK is halved until your end phase. Now we need a Rank 5 WATER spam engine that isn't mermailsxlemuria.
玄魔の王
Oh, right, mah bayd. I still wish it halved all enemy monsters, but oh well.

Plus, unlike her big bro, #94's effect can be used multiple times a turn, so she's slightly better than Zereort. Then again, "better than Zereort" isn't saying much. Then again, "better than Zereort" isn't saying much. At least she has easier materials than "2 Level 5 Winged Beast-type monsters". Even if they are WATER, it's better to be attribute-specific than type-specific.
evilfusion
Plus WATER has the plethora of level modulation and spam effects. Winged Beasts barely even have Level 5s that aren't subpar Blackwings.
