Not really. My sense of acknowledgement comes from my own self-evaluation.

I suppose, though, if you are aiming to improve then feedback is ideal. However, if you're making a card just cause, I don't see why you should freak out over it getting nothing.

Well yes, I agree with you ath the 1st part. But, by my standars, I posted my cards so the other members can see them, and also I was waiting for replies in order to see my errors and improve! That was what keeped me ticking until now in those forums. To become better nad better with every card! I belive the new members need the same things from you guys!

Dark is correct, the forum was far more entertaining when it had loads of noobs and trolls, like it or not.

Even that was better than the empyness we are living now!! It's like you have a Great Stadium with capacity of 100.000.000 people and the most you can manage to drag in is 10.000!!! IT'S EMPTY!!!

Try to be flexible with the rules and the bans, so the members can stay unbanned and give them the chance to learn some things.

This may just be me, but I feel like we are pretty flexible. I honestly cannot recall anyone who was recently banned who hasn't deserved it. We (or at least I) try to explain things to plenty of members who seem lost. ._.

LZ, I do not know how you mods acting with the members, (new or old), I'm just saying.. That was just an idia.

You should be making your cards for yourself and your own enjoyment. You should not need feedback on your cards. That way it is nice, but not something to leave a forum for.

I can understand that the absence of comments may be discouraging, but that is because of pessimistic mindsets who view a lack of comments as bad.

Who are you to tell people why they should be doing what they're doing?

Why can't people make things to get feedback on them? Do you think everyone just does things for their enjoyment? What if people actually want their mistakes pointed out so they can learn something?

You are missing the point... the people needs reviews and comments in order to continue coming here, improve.. They need their work to be acknowledged! Its natural! All of us need to be acknowledged at some point. Don't you?

This all depends on the views of the person who made the cards. You aren't one to tell what people want either.

Not everyone is making cards "just cause"

Someone with experience in the relevant section and is expressing advise.

I'm not saying they can't. I never used the words can't. Of course not everyone does things for their enjoyment, but I have already addressed that question and the subsequent one, which I am guessing you simply skim-read.

What a useless fucking thread.

You've got moderators complaining about activity yet aren't doing shit about it, members with no real pertinence anymore claiming this site and it's member base have changed for the worse.

It's quite simple really, the only reason you feel that way is because you're no longer relevant. Members who actually have substance will forever be relevant on this site, those who were merely "funny" like OMGAKITTY or those who simply provided entertainment by bashing others, CrabHelmet, will be forgotten and eventually no one will care about them. Why? Because they've got no significance on this site besides spurting irrelevant bullshit that's comical rather than compulsory.

Then we get the arbitrary member who returns claiming they're the second coming of Christ when in reality no one besides three people who used to cock-ride them 2 years ago actually give a fuck.

Some people have a problem with letting go, others can't adapt to change. Either way, if this site is no longer enjoyable for you, leave.

WE NEEDZ XYZZZZ'SSS LEWWAAWLLAWLAWLl

It's down to people being lazy and people not caring to look over stuff they have no care for. For example I'm not going to post on your measly YuGiOh Cards just because I honestly don't give two shits. Reason why RP's work is because people gets involved because it gives someone to do the reason why Games work is because it's reddit (useless spam)

YCM has been dying for years now, it's just on it's last legs right now.

In my opinion the decrease in activity on YCM's from old members getting older, with jobs and whatnot, and the others leave because their friends have left.
And due to the fact that Yu-Gi-Oh seems to be nowhere near as popular as it was back then.

and then there's me.
just lurkin' erryday

Honestly, people saying that members such as OMGAKITTY (f**k him BTW) and Princess Kitty are what kept this place going are being stupid.

I've been to plenty of other forums since I left this place and plenty of them have many users while others only have a few and eventually die.

I noticed a trend that apparently defines whether or not a forum will survive, and that trend is the Troll/Bully/Drama rate. Forums that let people such as OMGAKITTY run rampant last in the short run, but the lack of newer members eventually kills them in the end. I go to one forum that specifically has a rule to cover this issue (called the "Don't Be a Dick" rule) that upped the quality of said forum where many new users join and stay while some older members leave every now and again.

I've said before that the trolls and bullys on this site (and the mods reluctence to do anything to help new members to deal with them) cause me to leave this place and go to better forums. Now I'm sure that there could've been plenty of members to fill the void left by past veterans if certain memebers didn't run new people off within 2-10 posts for no good reason at all.

So, in conclusion... trolls/bullys/drama people practically killed YCM and there isn't much to do that can help that problem, but there is still a definite solution waiting in the wings.

This site just doesn't seem as interesting as it used to back when it was more active. I still lurk on the off chance that a thread will interest me in some way, but honestly I think that is what is slowly killing this site. A lack of interesting threads. Threads are the bread in the bread and butter of forums (members being the butter to support said threads.)

YOU CAN'T HAVE BREAD AND BUTTER WITHOUT THE BREAD. NO ONE EATS BUTTER.

In short, make threads on topics people will respond to. You know, create discussion. (Also making new members feel like they are the stupidest human beings to ever walk this planet probably isn't helping.)

OMGAKITTY wasn't even an asshole or anything though. And Night, calm down. This isn't the rap game, we're not competing to be "relevant".

I think we can all agree that getting more noobs / trolls is not the way to resurrect this site. It just isn't. It's much better to have a thread with one serious response than with a dozen spams. I don't think that we can argue there.

But half of the new members coming here actually want to seriously post cards and discuss things, but as it was utterly and blatantly overstated, they feel intimidated because either most of the experienced members are being elitist, or no one actually gives a crap about commenting. Everyone does need some critique. Even if it's of approval. Even if someone just posts "Nice balanced effect, I give it ____ out of 10" it will give the member some self-esteem and reason to stay. I know it's a stupid thing to do, just saying two lines, but it's enough to stop another piece this site crumbling. If you can leave a serious critique on a card, then great. If not, just leave a two-liner. It's spammy and wrong by many, but it helps members. If a card is outrageously stupid, as it often it, just tell the person shortly that they should post something more serious and be done with it.

And I'm going to reiterate on my previous pot - YCMaker / Mods, try to revamp this site. I know it most recently was, but you don't just need to change the design of the site or add new categories, it needs a stick driven through it's newer concepts and brought back to something basic, and then to start from there. Each site requires this as time passes. I hope you will consider it. I know that being a mod is no easy job, and that most if not all of you have other obligations (school, work, family, etc.) - obligations that I would never consider asking you to put aside for this. But, if you do have the time, if you can spend some more time on this site to redesign it, then please take it in consideration. If not, we'll surely see the slow decay of this site and eventual death (apologies for such a morbid description).

Exactly. So what is it that is stopping my post from becoming true? The fact that the mods can't dedicate half an hour each to to changing the place? Or the thought that this place has become to comfortable with lesser people as for it to change now?

My nigga idk if you've noticed but some of these mods don't give a shit either.

Case in point being Yankee sitting on his ass crying about a "dead" site that he obviously he could attempt to do something for.  No offense.

You want mods to do something?  Get rid of the useless ones, appoint fresh ones in their stead.  Night, LZ, Flame Dragon (can't remember if he's still a mod but I do remember he was good.), and Opal can stay as far as I'm concerned.  Idk about most of the others but it's clear some care more about bitchin' than they do trying to actually do some good.

No offense to you, but of all the people, what do you expect me, a member with a little over 200 posts, to do about it? I don't know which mods give a crap and which ones don't. I'm saying what the people are supposed to do, not which people will do it.

There are two solutions:

1. Make the new members feel welcome here, give them some attention to their posts and keep the mods caring for the forums.

2. Let the forum die or even kill it your self's.

The 1st is the hard way, the 2nd the easy way.. What are you choosing?

I choose the hard way!
