Heraldic Beast Unicorn

Since I should have made this a thread in the first place.

Basically, it summons a 2400 beatstick from the grave since the related Xyzs are about the only thing that will be available for its effect. Can't combo with Eagle, or Falcon since its effect was changed to no longer give Ranked monsters level 4.

I didn't think too much of this card either until I was shown the Chain Dog build, which makes this card very solid. The fact it's restricted to Number 8 or Coat of Arms is an occasional inconvenience, but Advanced Heraldry Art fulfills Number 8's condition by default, so having one available isn't an issue.

 

Negating the effect may turn Number 8 or 69 into a glorified beatstick, but not only would those two be unbelievably powerful if revived with their effects intact (since they're free effects), but the Deck's nature of spamming Rank 4s, which have extremely diverse effects and solid stats, means that it's easily extra damage your opponent can't usually afford to take. Late game, this card lets you drop a 2400/2600 out of nowhere and can swing momentum back in your favor.

 

Plus, if you run Limited Barian's Force, you can turn the revived monster into C39 - Victory (for the Ancient Gear clause and a 2800 body), C106 (for the negation stuff), C105 (for a 2800 body that inflicts half the ATK of destroyed-in-battle monsters), or C104 (3000 body MST). And if C69 gets released, any Rank-Up Magic will make Unicorn amazing.

Chronomaly Chrononaut is a Psychic Xyz as well, guys.
Anyway, as far as card design goes, it's pretty solid for the kinds of shenanigans it can lead to.

 

It is, but Heraldic Beasts don't run Rank 3s. Armor Kappa is a Rank 2 Psychic. Number 74 is a Rank 7 Psychic. But Heraldic Beasts focus on Rank 4s, and teching Unicorn in other Decks doesn't seem very useful.

 

I doubt C69 would be released with the last effect. Coat of Arms lost its "when attacked, detach to pop a card" effect, so I don't expect C69 to have it.
