Anime vs. Cartoons vs. Live Action

Most of the time, I prefer to watch anime (considering I grew up with Pokemon, YGO, Naruto and some other stuff). Cartoons are okay, but I'm a college student and shouldn't be watching cartoons as much. Anime is a different story though, since the context is something that appeals to older viewers (by this, I mean those of us in high school and beyond). For the purposes of this post, Pokemon is an anime, even though some people may classify it in cartoons.

Implying that there aren't cartoons that can be enjoyed by older people (Read: Avatar, Invader Zim, classic slapstick).

Implying that a lot of anime isn't childish (Read: Chibi Maruko-chan, Hello Kitty, Bottle Fairy)

Live action tends to be better quality to me. A lot of the humor, character development and interactions, drama, I tend to find those better done in those shows.

Anime, however, has the advantage of having these crazy settings and wacky characters AND awesomely choreographed action. There's all different sorts to choose from and I love the diversity, though after a while, you tend to see the same cliches used over and over.

Cartoons are great, though nowadays they're much more childish compared to what I grew up with and don't have as much to sink your teeth into. Avatar is a great exception, so is Batman: TAS, among other things.

tl;dr-I definitely watch anime more than the other two and the medium has more potential, though I definitely find more high-quality titles amongst live-action.

Cartoon > Anime

Because Japan consistently makes bad Transformers anime, and the DC Animated Universe, X-Men TAS and Evolution, and Young Justice are some of the best written cartoons ever made.

BUT, Law & Order, Suits, and NCIS are live-action. Therefore, live-action beats everything in existence.
