"Mind Flayer" - A legit alternative to "Goyo Guardian"?

When this card destroys a monster by battle: Special Summon that monster to your side of the field in face-up Defense Position, and if you do, this card gains ATK equal to the original ATK of that monster while that monster is face-up on your side of the field. Monsters Special Summoned by this effect cannot attack or change their battle positions.

I'm a bit iffy on calling this card "balanced". The stats are perfectly fine in my opinion but it gaining the ATK of each monster it destroys is a bit insane. In the current game the effect is already quite strong since you can easily get monsters for Xyz Summons this way. Maybe as an alternative this card could gain 200 ATK everytime it destroys a monster in battle, that would make for a nice combo as well.

 

But on the plus side I really dig the artwork, so overall I would give this card a 7/10 since it is too imbalanced and would easily get banned (or limited to 1) the moment it comes out.

It's still nearly exact to Goyo Guardian. Maybe consider the Synchro materials used. Maybe 1 Psychic-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Psychic-Type monsters or whatever.

Literally the main issues that Goyo had were that it was generic and had a massive 2800 ATK for an effect like that.
Despite the fact yours has 2000 ATK(Which is iffy, for a Goyo replacement), it still basically retains all the cheapness that Goyo originally had; Ease of Summoning, easily nets you field advantage, etc, etc.
