Underground Supporter [Xyz Support, I think]

I haven't done a card in ages, so I thought I'd give it a try. Not sure about the grammar or if this card would be useful, but here it is:

 

 

When this card is Summoned: you can discard up to 2 cards to increase the Level of this card equal to the number of the cards you discarded (Monsters Effects are negated when sent to the Graveyard by this effect). If this card is used as a Xyz Material: the selected monster gains 500 ATK during your Battle Phase. If this card is detached and sent to the Graveyard, the selected monster loses 500 ATK during your opponent Battle Phase.

If this card is used as a Xyz Material: the selected monster gains 500 ATK during your Battle Phase. If this card is detached and sent to the Graveyard, the selected monster loses 500 ATK during your opponent Battle Phase.

 

First, just to let you know:

selected -> targeted

 

Then, this effect makes no sense because an Xyz Summon doesn't involve targeting. I think it should read:

 

During your Battle Phase: An Xyz Monster that was Summoned using this card as Xyz Material gains 500 ATK. If this card is detached from that monster and sent to the Graveyard: That Xyz Monster loses 500 ATK during your opponent Battle Phase.

 

(or something like that. Not too sure on the last effect because as far as I know there are no official cards with such conditions to compare with.)

 

 

On the effect:

The card is not good. The level-changing effect is barely worth a discard(s) so you better use this for Rank 2s exclusively.

Then, the effect is arguably weak because a boost of 500 ATK is not really high; and then it makes the Xyz weaker after this card is detached? Sounds like a really bad deal.

 

I would say the best Xyz to Summon with this card is Gachi Gachi, who wouldn't mind the ATK drop.

 

As for suggestions, I would change her Level-changing conditions so something that doesn't cost you cards (revealing up to X monsters in your hand, etc.). Then, a built-in Special Summon clause/effect wouldn't be bad either, to further support 1-turn Xyz Summons.

You think I should do something like this, then?

 

When this card is Summoned: you can reveal up to 2 different cards in your hand to increase this card Level equal to the number of cards you revealed. If Special Summoned: you can't use this card as Synchro Material or Xyz Material. During your Battle Phase: An Xyz Monster that was Summoned using this card as Xyz Material gains 1000 ATK during the Damage Step.
