Type: Monster Type I: Effect Type II: Fish Attribute: Water Level: 3 Attack: 1300 Defence: 900

Card text
Any attack that would inflict battle damage to a player instead would increase their Life Points by the same amount. When a card's effect to banish a monster(s) on the field is activated, you can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to negate its activation and destroy the card.

Eh, not very original. I was planning on a Prime Material monster for each attribute (that means only Fire and Dark are left), but I don't have any more immediate ideas. Anyway, although Carp is pretty weak, if you can protect him and force your opponent's attack, he might be useful. Alternatively, use his low level to search him out or resurrect him via Alchemist then transmute him into something else.

I'm assuming you already know this card's effect is essentially a duplicate of Prime Material Dragon's, except it stops banishing cards in place of ones that destroy.

Though it's nice for stopping cards like Dimensional Prison, Bottomless, HTS Psyhemuth (hopefully I spelled that correctly), Crossout (though I don't remember seeing it used much nowadays) and a few other things I can't name at the moment, like you mentioned, its stats are low (although about average for a Level 3) and vulnerable to Mirror Force, Torrential, etc. You can still search this out with Mother Grizzly/return it to hand with Salvage should you choose to run this in a WATER/Fish-related Deck as this could function in both.

I though prime material dragon stopped effect damage?

Also best idea ever: Set up an OTK and attack your opponent thus increasing their life points then BOOM, activate self destruct button!

On a more serious note you could safe zone it and keep attacking stronger monsters to heal or use a monster (e.g. spirit reaper) who cant be destroyed by battle for more life points. The banish protection makes this strategy (although unpractical) harder to stop.

Well, Prime Material Dragon's deals with effect damage, while this deals with combat damage, but yeah it is meant to mirror PMD. Since its a level 3 though, I've considered dropping the first passive effect or replacing it with something else. I still have the Fire and Dark attributes to go (after Prime Material Dragon, Falcon, Golem, and Carp), so I can always pass it on to something else, if I can't come up with a decent effect for the last two.

Yeah Dragon does stop effect damage; though with that aside, effect is pretty much worded the same way with those exceptions. Apologies if I didn't explicitly mention that earlier.

But that combo mentioned above essentially leads to OTK if you use something like Spirit Reaper/other members that can't die in battle to attack a stronger one.

For the rest of the series, you can try mirroring the other existing Prime Materials (or something that'll support the archetype as a whole)

Yeah he could be an okay healer. And with Safe Zone he'd be virtually unremovable, save for a couple of options. But since he's on the field, if your opponent controls weaker monsters they'd be able to increase their life points too. Could be good with cards like "The Unhappy Girl".
