So I made a Pokemon as a Yu-Gi-Oh card [Haunter]

2 Level 3 Zombie-Type monsters
This card cannot be attacked by Warrior-Type monsters. While this card is face-up on the field, you can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card: Halve this card's original ATK. Then, for the rest of the duel, any monster your Opponent Summons, including monsters your Opponent already controls, loses 1/8 of their ATK, and loses that same amount each turn.
 
btw I made my account like a month ago or two but I never got around to posting on here until now.
 
 
The idea with this effect is that it's basically doing its Curse move. Anybody that's played Pokemon should know what it does: You take half your HP, and make the opposing Pokemon lose 1/4 of their HP each turn. Kinda the same situation here.
Anyway, what do you guys think of the card? My first one so far.

This card cannot be targeted for attacks by Warrior-Type monsters. You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card: Halve this card's original ATK. Then, for the rest of the duel, any monster your opponent Summons, including monsters your opponent already controls, loses 1/8 of their ATK, and loses that same amount each turn (during their End Phase).
 

First of all, its ATK/DEF are too high for a 2-material Rank 3 monster, even with the requirement of the materials being Zombies. Lower its ATK to around 2000-2100 and its DEF to 1600-1900. (If this were a Rank 4/5 monster, then stats would be acceptable)

 

With that said, general comments/CnC:

 

Its first effect is a reference to ghosts being immune to Fighting/Normal types in game. I see where you're going with this, but speaking from a (semi-) competitive standpoint, that doesn't do too much against current Decks nowadays. In terms of the "Curse" effect, should only affect the monsters on the field at the time this card activates its effect and not continue on to other monsters (to be more technical with the games, you only affect 1 Pokemon/monster with the effect). There are no cards that lower points by 1/8 (only one instance of cards that remove 1/4; Chasm of Spikes); either you halve or there is a set amount.

 

 

While we're on that, you could add a Venom Swamp-esque clause such that when a monster's ATK hits 0 by this effect, destroy it. However, you do need to mention WHEN the point drop occurs (to be on par with the games, let's assume it occurs during the End Phase).

 

Overall, it's a good first card, however you do need to lower this card's ATK/DEF stats (because 2300-2500 ATK is something I'd expect out of a Rank 4 monster with 2/3 materials)

You're right, the immune to Warriors being a reference isn't all that competitive. And 2500 for being Rank 3 is too much. I'll lower that.

 

As for the Curse effect, if I do change the effect to monsters dying after it hits 0, and affecting only the monsters currently on the field, should I set it at inflicting 1/4 damage or keep it at 1/8? I feel like if it stays at 1/8 the monsters can live long enough to attack a few more turns before becoming a blocking-only card, but if I set it at 1/4, then it'll get rid of the bigger threats faster (such as DAD or whatever). I can't decide, haha.

It's up to you whether or not you want to make this card's effect similar to how Curse works in Pokemon.

Anyway, the stats are much better now (while still a bit strong for a Rank 3, the type specific materials should be enough to balance that out).

 

The Curse effect is also more balanced now (and keeps on track with the game mechanics). With that said though, you'd want to use this card when your opponent has a decent size field of monsters you can activate the effect on. While we're on the note of keeping this card similar to its counterpart in Pokemon, you might want to make the effect activate during your opponent's End Phase only instead of both (otherwise your opponent's monsters essentially die by their next turn, if not severely weakened by then)

 

With that said, I'll give another fix.

During your opponent's End Phase: Monsters your opponent currently controls lose 1/8 of their ATK and lose that same amount each turn. When a monster's ATK becomes 0 by this effect: Destroy it. This effect is applied for the rest of the Duel.
 
(Not sure how that last effect is worded in PSCT, but that should clean it up a bit)
