Blake Posted December 19, 2013 Report Share Posted December 19, 2013 2 Level 4 monsters Once per turn, you can either: Target 1 face-up Xyz Monster you control; equip this card to that target, OR: Unequip this card and Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position. The equipped monster can attack your opponent directly. When the equipped monster inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can discard 1 card; inflict 500 damage to your opponent. I feel liek this is a card that's just going to sit around and wait to be broken. Sure, there are things you can do with it now, like Heroic Champion - Excalibur, Blade Armor Ninja, and another card to help Utopia.dek OTK... but other than Utopia, those uses seem really limited and not at all worth it. It just feels like the sort of card that is going to have a somewhat relevant OTK one day, if not an actually relevant one, and I really dislike that this card exists. And Welche, not a real Union Monster. Nitpicking, hehe. And you can actually create OTKS with Blade Armor and Stoic Challenge with this. It makes no sense from a design standpoint to have the effect of a Union monster, function exactly like a Union monster, yet not be. It's like Konami wants subtypes to fail. I'll give you that, but Toons and Unions are concepts Konami should work on expanding and making cards that are functionally the same, but aren't in the category makes no sense. The only good Union monsters are Machina Gearframe and Armory Arm, the first one which isn't good because it's a union and the second isn't even a real union. Am I missing anything? Am I missing anything? Which part are you talking about? Also, I never said anything about the quality of the cards. As far as psuedo-unions go, you don't have to look any further than the ZW series to see examples. As for actual Unions, there's Trigon, Spirit of the Six Samurai, some Vylons, etc. Not too many, though. On subject of this card itself, it is rather meh. It really would only be good in a scenario where you have an OTK with 1 monster but the field isn't clear yet, the game is just about over, or for some reason you absolutely need an extra 500 or so damage.
