Lore:

This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card gains 800 ATK during Damage calculation. When this card is destroyed by a card effect, add one "Sword Summoner" monster to your hand.

Should I continue Sword Summoners as an archetype?

Is it well balanced? (It seems not so I changed some things)

That card is way too OP, 2800 ATK for a lv 7 is ok, but when attacking gain 800? Thats wayy too OP. Maybe tone it down a bit?

Also the lore is a bit off: This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card gains 800 ATK during the damage step only. When this card is destroyed by a card effect: Add 1 "Sword Summoner" monster from your deck to your hand.

Otherwise, great card! I would add it to my deck cuz of its effect =P.

Edit: Sorry about that it isnt caps after my bad =P

It's a beatstick that has no shortcuts for it's Special Summoning, and since it's so big and heavy, maining multiples of this and potentially clogging the hand with a bad draw might not be worth it. I'd use 2, and only if I found a way to consistently make it. There's Mausoleum of the Emperor, but even with that it's still just a beater. Even at 3600 ATK, I don't see a huge problem with it. Warriors have the 4000 ATK Excalibur which gets dropped with much more ease. Blue Eyes pops out of anywhere with no real investment and only loses by 600 ATK. Among other examples.

I think it's fine, and pretty straight forward. It calls for investment for it's huge ATK.

It's weird how it's +ATK effect is actually pretty pointless. It'll have the boost whenever it matters and otherwise won't really go under any card's radar when it doesn't have it. Other cards that boost it either do it while attacking only, (that train from the Roids), only work while they battle with monsters (Topaz Tiger), or need a payment for it (Injection Fairy Lily). With this guy, you could actually make it 3600 ATK and the only real difference would be under Skill Drain. IDK what to think of it.

I agree; its ATK is really just 3600 and the 'during the Damage Step' effect seems like text that doesn't do anything. Can you explain what is accomplished by boosting its ATK only during the Damage Step?

I think I'm okay with such high ATK because it cannot be Special Summoned. But if the player gets to add a card to their hand when this monster is destroyed, then that compensates for one of the tributes. So in terms of card costs, it really just ends up like a 1-tribute monster with 3600 ATK.

To be comepletely honest I am tired of seeing new card archtypes. I remember when the harpies were like the only archtype, I miss those days in Yugioh, maybe I'm just old school but the cards were way more fun before the GX era of yugioh cards, when you could make a deck with almost any combinationof cards. Whereas now you have alot of cards that are dependent upon one another. Metagame is ruining the game therefore I cannot appreciate this as a respectable card. (4/10) Choppy pic/ Uncreative lore, sorry :/

It now says the ATK gaining is only during the damage calculation

Thnx for the feedback

The damage step thing means if you calculate damage with it, its ATK would be treated as 3600, but if you were destroying it by battle it would be destroyable by monsters with 2800+ ATK
