[Aix's Archetypes] Luck-based Fencer Girls *Edits Made*

Axi is back with another set of beautiful bishoujos. Trying to make an archetype of luck done right, so here I am. Reps for reviews. Oh god, the name of this archetype ;3

It's a pretty incomplete set, now that I look at it and I probably need to add more, especially since I've kept searching and card advantage gain to a minimum so it's probably not all that strong.

When this card attacks: Toss a coin. When a coin is tossed by a "Sabra" monster you control: You can discard this card; apply this effect, depending on the coin toss.
- Heads: Add 1 "Sabra" monster from your Deck to your hand.
- Tails: Negate the effects of one face-up card.
You can only activate 1 "Sabra" monster effect per coin toss.
----------
I tried to keep searching to a minimum, so here's the only searcher in the set.

KEv4CPq.jpg
This card cannot be destroyed by battle. After this card battles: Toss a coin. When a coin is tossed by a "Sabra" card you control: You can discard this card; apply this effect, depending on the coin toss.
- Heads: this turn, 1 card you control is unaffected by other card effects.
- Tails: Add 1 "Sabra" monster from your Graveyard to your hand.
You can only activate 1 "Sabra" monster effect per coin toss.
----------
A defensive wall.

When a monster attacks: You can discard this card, draw 1 card and toss a coin. When a coin is tossed by a "Sabra" card you control: You can discard this card; apply this effect, depending on the coin toss.
- Heads: Add 1 "Sabra" monster from your Graveyard to your hand.
- Tails: Destroy 1 card on the field.
You can only activate 1 "Sabra" monster effect per coin toss.
----------
The highest ATKer ironically does not toss a coin when she attacks. She does have a powerful non-targeting card removal effect though.

D0C58ID.jpg
When this card attacks: Toss a coin. When a "Sabra" monster(s) would be affected by a card effect, you can discard this card instead. You can banish this card in your Graveyard, then 1 "Sabra" monster in your Graveyard to your hand, except "Sabra Dance"; add it to your hand. You can only use 1 effect of "Sabra Dance" per turn and only once that turn.
----------
The set needs some stability here. And another monster that tosses upon attack in case you need it.

l9vrA2d.jpg
At the end of the Battle Phase, if a "Sabra" monster you control destroyed a monster by battle: Send this card to the Graveyard; Draw 2 cards, and if you do, toss a coin. You can only activate the effect of "Sabra Prize" once per turn.
----------
Recover that lost advantage.

HlxbL6c.jpg
Special Summon 1 "Sabra" monster from your Deck or Graveyard. During your Main Phase 2, if a "Sabra" monster you control battled this turn: You can add this card from your Graveyard to your hand. You can only activate 1 effect of "Sabra Call" per turn and only once that turn.
----------
Every other turn Special Summon 1 "Sabra" monster. Not too bad of a deal.

hNGndaV.jpg
2 Level 4 Warrior-Type monsters
While this card has a "Sabra" monster as Xyz Material, this card is unaffected by your opponent's card effects and gains 400 ATK. When this card battles: Toss a coin. When this card destroys a monster by battle: Detach 1 Xyz Material; inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.
----------
Okay. Here's an overpowered boss to bring this archetype a bit closer to par. That's a terrible way to bring it up to par, but whatever.

Thing is, with the effect, this is a 1900 beater  that triggers coin tosses and SEARCHES.  >>;;

Doesn't seem to do tooooo much in this fast meta.   The not affected effect is sweet, but at what cost?

The highest ATKer ironically does not toss a coin when she attacks. She does have a powerful non-targeting card removal effect though.

e-e  Even if it does have that discard-choice effect, it's a 2000 ATK beater with an auxiliary effect of non-targeting destruction.  I don't like it being Level 4 too much, and I think destruction should go on a weaker card.

I guess this would add to your hand?  Anyways, this is my favorite so far, though effect 'negation' is pretty nuts...

Recover that lost advantage.

Conditional PoG that acts as a coin tosser.  Why don't you make it continuous so MST negates it?

HlxbL6c.jpg

Special Summon 1 "Sabra" monster from your Deck or Graveyard. During your Main Phase 2, if a "Sabra" monster you control battled this turn: You can add this card from your Graveyard to your hand. You can only activate 1 effect of "Sabra Call" per turn and only once that turn.

e_e Special Summoning from the deck is icky.  Maybe it'd be better if it was from the Grave only if they were sent by their own effect.

Puts IMMENSE pressure on the opponent, and only has a 'downside' if it had a Sabra.  Not to mention a Warrior-generic R4 with a 1000 burn effect.

The point with Riposte and Flourish is that you have to choose between Summoning them and keeping them in your hand. While on a single card, it may be bad to have such power and versatility, but when it's an archetype like this it forces you to choose. You forget that you only have a 50% chance of getting the opportunity to activate the effect you want (the way these girls work is that you only activate AFTER the toss, so it's not just completely random)

With Sabra Prize, that does seem like a good idea.

The thing with Sabra Call... idk, I kind of didn't want them to be just stuck if you didn't draw a Sabra monster and I didn't want to add to the hand as another RoTA. They currently have no swarming ability whatsoever as well.

Sabra Finish - I probably should bring down the ATK.

I like the artwork of these cards. May I ask for the source and/or artist?

I like this mechanic of coin toss + discard you bring, too. I usually like the effects that involve chance (Crazy Box, Gatling Dragon), except when they go too far and the positive effect is way too good, but the negative way too bad (Arcana Force); so I'm glad to see you didn't take the path of "awesome effect or advantage for the opponent" and instead you gave 2 somewhat balanced effects to each result.

I'm fine with most these cards except Finish: The ATK is too high, whereas the burn effect is kinda bland, and the detach effect could be used for an effect that futher supports Sabra: perhaps an effect that let's you pick the effect of Sabras instead of relying on the coin result (similar to "Light Barrier")?

I'm thinking that you could make the second effect an "Once per Turn" instead if waiting until she attacks. That way you will be able to trigger a Sabra and make a play before entering the BP.

I'm against turning Prize into a Continuous because a potential +2 every turn can become stupid (good).

I made the burn effect like that so that if your opponent couldn't get over her, they'd have to crash themselves to make her get rid of the "Sabra" Xyz Material. Sabras already work by activating after the coin is tossed rather than activating and then seeing the coin result. Though, I suppose I could change her to something else entirely.

It's not every turn. It's just there and then sent to the Graveyard when you want the +1.
