Imperial Tombs of Necrovalley

Recommended Posts

ImperialTombsofNecrovalley-LVAL-EN-OP.pn

When a Spell Card, Trap Card, or monster effect is activated, while both a "Gravekeeper's" monster and "Necrovalley" are on the field: Negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. You can only activate 1 "Imperial Tombs of Necrovalley" per turn.

We all know it's a ridiculous card, and I think it deserved to be a Secret, though the downside is that it'll be pretty expensive, discuss

idk about this card

while if you have your board set up and necrovalley up if you have 1 or even 2 of these set you can pretty much control the board from there

but if you are setting spy or something then this will be dead

and also my opponent can run over my gk and then this will be dead aswell so you are going to end up running mirror forces and d prison

soo while this can be op it can also be dead at times but im guessing people will run 2-3

Seems like it doesn't do anything more then protect your Necrovalley.

If you're in a match-up that isn't too good for GK's, this card isn't going to help a whole lot.

And if you're in a match-up that is good for GK's, you don't really need it to win.

It does create a more aggressive version of the GK deck that would rather be summoning monsters instead of setting them to always have it live. However, since Spy is just too good of a card to not play, you will end up having to make plays where it is dead on the field and your opponent will simply tear right through you.

Ambusher can also add this back to your hand, but again just like Spy, he won't do anything while set.

Really, the worst part about this card is that you're going to see more GK players regardless whose goal is basically to say "you cannot play Yu-Gi-Oh". What a stupid deck. Tomb makes Gravekeepers feel extra Gravekeepey and if your deck is at a disadvantage to it, you're probably not winning the game.

If you are playing the mirror, remember that you can use this while your opponent has a GK out too.

More often than not, if I'm playing GKs and have this, I mind-game myself by thinking "Is that play strong enough to warrant using this card?" followed by "If I negate it, how likely is it that they'll be able to do something even worse?"

Granted, it probably just shows I'm not a very skilled player (especially with GKs) to not already know the opportune time in an opponent's play to flip up the negation card, but GKs also have so many control options that sometimes it's superfluous or it's a dead card.
