Tentacruel
So yeah, time for another pot discussion, although please avoid talking about anything illegal. IMO, I like Colorado's laws. Smoke it in your own house. For? Against? Discuss.

Tentacruel
_____ The knowledge that something is illegal doesn't stop people from doing it. I still think it's not right for the state to be everyone's mom and stop them from playing with scissors because they might cut themselves. I understand driving while intoxicated poses a threat to others, but people don't smoke weed and go driving around at 100 mph like the do while drunk. The solution is to tighten driving regulations, not drugs. There are countless medications that impair driving ability but we can't just ban them all because they effect another aspect of society. 宇佐見 蓮子@C94
As someone who lives in a country where weed is illegal but no action is taken to prevent big ol' drug lords selling it to kids, I say make it legal. Making it illegal only gives the drug lords control over the circulation, which in turn keeps their business alive. I've read that in some countries where weed is fully legal, drug-related crimes actually go down. Making it illegal never stopped someone from getting them, it simply gets them behind bars for being a victim.
Night
Marijuana legalization matters as much to as gay marriage does. Don't give a fuck what you inhale, nor who's penetrating your anus.
Lunar Origins
Marijuana legalization matters as much to as gay marriage does. Don't give a f*** what you inhale, nor who's penetrating your anus. Power abuse, no cussing But basically this. It's fine if you do it; just don't do it in public, or around me, for that matter (well, different for gay marriage; it's totally fine to show affection in public, but for any relationship, keep it PG for the kids). Same goes for smoking. I find any sort of 'drug' that alters the mind that's not prescribed to be totally disgusting, so.

LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
I have a very simple opinion on this. As long as you don't harm others, I don't care if you smoke it. Your life, your choice, but you'd dang well be responsible. Same idea with a lot of things actually.
goddamnit names are a pain
I could go on one of those stupid rants about how people are always harmed when taking drugs, but I'm not that gay. I will say that I only recommend it if you don't drive and don't have a family that gives a crap, including yourself. So for the suicidal depressed peoplez? Dad
Good thing I live near the Mexican border. I can go to Mexico, use any drugs, then come back home. You have Kiryuin in your signature. That makes you evil and your opinion invalid. >:/ TEAM RYUKO But on topic, I'm honestly hoping that the legality law moves down here to the N.O. Driving intoxicated (in any form, as mentioned) is obviously stupid, but I have to--and if anyone quotes this I will feed on your unborn children's souls and use their excrement to pad the insides of your walls and slowly choke you to death in that smell of innocent child feces--but I agree with Teemo. Tightening driving regulations will lower the burden, the risk, and raise the punishment. If anything, the shit should be sold in grocery stores ANYWAY. Too much of a hold on weed will only strangle the masses.
Fusion X. Denver
Aside from all the reasons already mentioned, there's also the issue that arresting users wastes tax dollars on imprisoning people who are otherwise harmless and then ruining their lives over what should be something trivial. If people drive high, then they should treat that the same way they do for drunk drivers. And even though this isn't the best argument, alcohol and cigarettes are much more harmful in the long run than weed.
Βyakuya
I'm okay with weed being legal and such, but just on another note, I really don't appreciate weed culture.

Glitch
I just hate how old ignorant people who have never smoked in their lives decide if we can or can't smoke. It doesn't really hurt anybody, you can't overdose, it's very unlikely to become addicted, it would reduce shady dealers and gangs. Have you ever seen a professional weed dispensery? It's... Well, safe and just good all around. They won't even let people do studies of it, even though there are obvious medicinal benefits. And its definitely better than alcohol or tobacco. And no, I'm not saying there's nothing bad about weed, but I feel like it should be a choice, especially since the majority of people want it to be legal anyway. .Rai
Weed is a strange one. I'm not American, so looking in on American marijuana politics is fascinating. While it would probably do nothing to fix the number of very heavy marijuana users, I doubt it would ever increase this number by that much. That said, with all the attention surrounding weed, it might be worthwhile for investments into public education on responsibilities using weed. That's what really matters, I think.Weed is fundamentally a drug (and driving while high isn't a good one), and poses some threats. Marijuana addiction is a thing, but the studies behind weed are all a bit fuzzy at the moment. It's pretty obvious that weed is less harmful than alcohol and tobacco, tobacco only being legal essentially because it earns countries humungous amounts of money every year.If I had to choose between having alcohol or weed legal, it would probably be weed. Drunken Britain really shows how much of a pain alcohol is to a country.
goddamnit names are a pain
I am starting to lean towards weed being legal here in America. Sure, it has dangers blah blah blah, but do cars and other various technologies pose a danger to us? And do we not still them? I see this as a huge marketing chance to drag our economy out of the ditch somewhat. I mean, so many other dangerous things are being sold with regulations, why not do this with regulations? Not awful ones, but still existent ones.
Tentacruel
Also if weed was legal you'd have joints with filters and such and the FDA could regulate the hell out of it, rather than shady criminals rolling it for you.
Rapidfire
Tobacco is worse, and that's legal. In fact, who actually cares? Like honestly if you don't know what it is or what it does don't smoke it. Just be responsible for your own body and you'll be fine, it's that simple. And also like it's not even that much of a drug. If you wanna talk about drugs that are abused (by mostly teens) let's talk about acid. That stuff can ether be great or nightmarish.
