werewolfjedi
just looking at it, the first player now has a signifigant draw back to going first, no draw, and no attack, without equal card numbers, I feel that a bad draw, would completely ruin their chances at winning, while an equally as bad draw on the other side, would give the turn 2 player that 1 card up advantage, and the first attack, which should ether wipe out most likely 3000 life points minimum in the current state of the game, or cost turn 1 player more cards, creating an even greater disadvantage. I honestly don't see what first up on traps gives in this situation, most certainly if they don't draw a monster wipe trap such as mirror force or torrential, and also have it not killed by the opponent, which can happen, since again, being one up on the draw, means that they can one for one cards untill they are left with 1 against 0. now if the game didn't have this Era of survival ability monsters, I could see this working out, what with side decking choices based on player postion, but with stardust, 101 ark, mastroke, lead yoke, etc etc, able to be summoned these days in a 2 card move, and with all wipes being destruction, they only need something like this to counter intended result, and just sit behind it, grinding them out with their own combo plays. playing out the situation in my head, I feel like the first player really is at a dis-advantage, and that with hands being equal, they should lose out in the long run if they play the same type of deck as the oppoenent from the lack of first draw and first attack, and that winning would be more about the match up with equal/mirror creating a second player wins situation, again from the first draw and first attack, assuming skill is in all regards equal between players. if my theory stands to be true, the only fair answer I can think of without just saying undo the rule change, would be to give the first player a better hand overall, which would mean a mulligan. disscussion on total and partial muligans is allowed. would they get a reload, or a mallet, and which one would be better for the game state as it can be seen. given that, do you think player 1's advantage would be equal, less than, or greater than player 2's, because of higher average of 'good' hands over 'bad' hands.
