---------------------What is Spell Arms-------------------------------------

 

The idea of spell arms is that they act like equipment for the duellist where you can only have 1 Spell Arms active on the feild that can only be placed in the centre monster card Zone (this doesn't count as if you were normal summoning a monster plus a variation of them will have costs for good attack and powerful effects.) You cannot activate a new Spell Arms until the current Spell Arms is destroyed

 

Example of a card:
 

Buster Gloves
Spell Arms
Send 1 Level 4 Warrior-Type monster with 1500 or more ATK from your hand to the graveyard to activate this card. When you attack a monster in defence position with a DEF lower than this cards ATK: inflict the difference as battle damage.
ATK/2400

When a Spell Arms is in play the following will occur...

* When you destroy a monster with a ATK lower than this cards ATK, battle damage will be applied as normal.
* When a monster attacks a Spell Arms that card is destroyed as a result of battle and its treated as taking full damage as if you were being hit for a direct attack.
* Spell Arms are treated as a type of Spell so stuff that would effect spell cards can effect spell arms as well.
* Spell Arms do not have DEF points which why various Spell Arms will have high ATK.
* Spell Arms connot be used as tributes for a tribute summon.

Now for some other examples of Spell Arms
 

Armour Shield
Spell Arms
Send 1 card from your hand to the bottom of your deck. This card cannot declare an attack.
ATK/3000

Archfiend Barrel Blaster
Spell Arms
This card can attack all your opponents Monsters and Spell Arms once during each of your Battle-Phase's. After this cards first attack during the Battle-Phase: When this card attacks: banish the top card of your deck.
ATK/2000

 

Spear of Gungnir
Spell Arms
While this card is on your side of the field, if "Forbidden Lance" is activated: it reduces the selected monsters ATK by 1200 instead.
ATK/1800

 

--------------Support and Counter Cards-----------

Here are now some ideas of how Spell Arms can be supported and Countered.

 

Support:

Weapon Store
Spell Card
Add 1 "Spell Arms" from your deck to your hand, then pay life points equal to half of that cards original ATK.

Reinforcing Arms
Spell Card
Increase the ATK of your activated Spell Arms by 400.

 

Counter cards:

Shattering Impact
Spell Card
Select one monster you control: Until the End-Phase this turn, if that card attacks a Spell Arms: destroy that card without applying damage calculation.

Weapon Eating Wyvern
lv 4 Dark
Dragon/Effect
When this card attacks a either a Monster Equipped with a Equip Spell or a Spell Arms: this cards ATK becomes the same as the attack target + 100.
ATK/1800 DEF/1200
