Well well. Looks like we have another dark magician added to the ranks!

When a Spellcaster-Type Normal Monster declares an attack: You can target 1 card your opponent controls; banish it. Now I know what your thinking about the Rank 6 Spellcasater XYZ but i have a suggestion.

Once per turn, during either player's turn, when your opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it.

In my opinion, I could see this being used with a Gagaga Deck with a lacing of Dark Magicians but the Level 6 requirement seems too situational given that ther are not many Rank 6 Spellcaster Type XYZ Monsters. Another problem I have is, for a Rank 7 XYZ, It feels weak. When you think of the ATK we get now as opposed to when Dark Magician was viable (long, long ago)  I just think it could be easily dispatched. Not to mention it should be the equivalent of 2 Level 7's. Overall it may be good for a 5000 ATK punch but there is too much against it.

 

What do you think? Could we not use this in a Gagaga Deck? Is it too situational? Is it weak? Discuss please.

You forgot to mention that also Magi Magi Magician Gal is a Rank 6 Spellcaster-type monster, she can either go Big Eye-mode with one of your opponent's monster or revive one from either graveyard, before overlaying into DMI.

 

This card is best used (as you said) in a gagaga deck, seeing their great power with level modulation.

I am now waiting on Dark Magician of Chaotic Illusions and Sorcerer of Dark Illusions. Sadly, they will never come.

For now, he's great theme support, but that's all he is; he lacks the splashability of other Rank 7s.

This card can actually pretty much OTK with Magi Magi and some other stuff as well as the fact that it clears up to 2 monsters off the opponent's board. It is actually really really good.

It's a good card, but Norito is already very strong. A Deck like this would be really top-heavy.

Eye of Timaeus may or may not making this card even more powerful. Depends on the fusion(s), and Timaeus exact effect (which is unconfirmed). However, it may be possible to instantly hop from Dark Magician to Dark Paladin or... god forbid... Dark Flare Knight.

But, a bit too better IMO.
