玄魔の王
I was honestly expecting them to Build Reaper Scythe into this, and it should have been able to trigger when any monster you controled was destroyed.
Jord200
So all six of the big name cards in the pack are worthless garbage. What a disapointing pack this turning into. If we don't get Number 5, I'm not to even bother buying any of these. This pack is a huge let down.

evilfusion
So...it's the anime version incarnate. Reaper Scythe better say "when Guardian Dreadscythe is Special Summoned while this card is in the Graveyard, equip it"

Yes, of course they should have. This card is a corrupted Guardian Eatos. AKA the only Guardian of Rafael's Guardians that didn't rely on a crappy Equip Spell. The only remotely playable Guardian, whose Equip Spell effect was integrated partially into the card.

Ironically, Eatos is also the one Guardian whose Equip Spell has some utility beyond summoning Guardians, since per its OCG name it's a Noble Arms. If we don't get Number 5, I'm not to even bother buying any of these. This pack is a huge let down. For those of us who never remotely cared about Dark Magician stuff (believe it or not, not everyone does) or this, this pack has quite a few gems. It'd be nice of this was made better but at the end of the day, it was really just a "hard to kill" beater. Most of the Doma/Waking the Dragons cards released in the game so far show why things that seemed good in the anime a decade ago aren't necessarily going to translate well into the actual game. evilfusion
While disappointed in a bunch of the anime cards, I will admit I like the loyalty most of them show to the anime counterparts, with the understanding that yes, half of them are terrible BECAUSE they're being more loyal to the anime. If they printed the RL version of Orichalcos Shuneros in this pack, as a "former anime card made real", the fans would riot. Much like how our reactions actually are in regards to Orichalcos Shuneros having absolutely nothing in common with its anime counterpart, except for the name. Neochu-H
If they printed the RL version of Orichalcos Shuneros in this pack, as a "former anime card made real", the fans would riot. the original one summons a monster that says "you cannot lose the duel"
evilfusion
the original one summons a monster that says "you cannot lose the duel" Yes, but the anime Orichalcos Shunoros did a bunch of crazy stuff that would justify never printing it. The RL Shunoros...is a ?/0 monster that protects your Level 4 Normals from dying by card effects, and has 1000 ATK x the opponents' monsters. It has absolutely nothing in common with anime Shunoros, and the fact it was released as "Orichalcos Shunoros" was outrageous. If they had printed Shunoros in this pack with the RL effect, we'd be disgusted. My original point was I prefer the loyalty to the anime, even if they're somewhat mediocre as a result, then getting something mediocre with nothing in common. (Obviously, we prefer GOOD cards)
Jord200
I suppose you're right. I never thought about that. the original one summons a monster that says "you cannot lose the duel" .........I didn't even remember that.............Dang. Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
Scythe can only be equipped to Deathscythe and increases its ATK by 500 for monsters in both player's graveyards. That's all it does.
werewolfjedi
of they were going to keep the summon condition of eatos must die, this should have been a deck, hand, or graveyard summon, so that it doesn't sit there and be shit while you wait. evilfusion
I'm genuinely just annoyed it has to come from the hand. It's a Level 8, but you won't be using Trade-In on your dead copies in hand, because putting Dreadscythe in the Graveyard stops you from using Eatos' SS effect, AND being able to SS itself by own Summon Condition. Such a shame, because Soul Charge has amusing synergy with Eatos.
Blake
At least, between this and its equip, it's going to be more-or-less 8000 ATK all the time.
Canopy Star - Eon Sphere
So, does anyone else remember that this and Eatos are searchable? OK, it's a FLIP effect, and it blocks Eatos, but if somehow you could resolve without it destroying itself (Waboku?) it could search one of the two. Of course, it's still bad, and I'm not even going to suggest that this would be good at all, but it's interesting to remember an old card with synergy. Problem is, you can only Special Summon Eatos while you have no monsters in the grave, and Scythe is dependent on monsters in the grave...
