Hello everyone J-Max here. After a 2 Year Hiatus, the Pokevolution Project is back! With all new ideas and old favorites too. Here's a few titbits of ideas I have for the restart of PKEV.

Monsters that will actually work with Deck Themes.

Evolution Counters are gone.

Pokevolution Hybrids are back and will be Synchro's Xyz's and Fusions.

High Tiered Pokemon will get Special Effects if Low Levels also exist on the field.

Trainers and Gym Leaders still have their own Arch-Types

Plenty of Spells and Traps planned.

Here is a taster of a Pokemon from the Kalos region ^^

OLD EFFECT!

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Can only be Special Summoned from your hand or Graveyard by Banishing 2 Fairy-Type monsters from your hand or Graveyard. When this monster is Special Summoned, you can Banish up to 5 Dragon-Type monsters from either players hand, field or Graveyard. Inflict 800 damage to your opponent for each Dragon-Type monster Banished using this monster's effect. Once per turn you can Banish 1 Dragon-Type monster from your opponent's field or Graveyard to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or below LIGHT monster from your Deck in face-up Attack Position.

NEW EFFECT

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Can only be Special Summoned from your hand or Graveyard by Banishing 2 Fairy-Type monsters from your hand or Graveyard. While is monster remains face-up on your field, the Level of all Fairy-Type monsters in your hand is reduced by 1. When a Fairy-Type monster is Special Summoned to your field, you can switch the Position of this face-up monster to increase your Life Points by an amount equal to half  the ATK of the summoned monster.

When I read the card, I don't think Sylveon. I think Dragon hate. And while Fairies are a type made to counter dragons, that's not their identity.

As a whole, the identifying characteristic of fairies is that they're specially bulky, most times. Exceptions exist, such as Xerneas, Granbull, etc. but most of the fairies introduced this gen are bulky and special. And this makes sense, as they're creatures of whimsy. Sylveon is no exception, as it's a special tank that can dish special damage out. This would translate to a strong effect and maybe effect immunity, but it also needs decent bulk to survive ala its hp.

Making it a weak beater doesn't fit its spirit at all, and really feels you just made a random card and slapped Sylveon onto it.

Nevermind that it allows you to completely understand the gamestate (you can see the opp's hand for it with your wording), it's an OTK machine. I'm sure there's a loop with this to burn the opponent to death. And banishing your opp's resources, thus removing them from the game most times, in order to summon from the deck is neither flavorful nor coherent design. I understand that this is pop culture and that flavor comes first, but when you fail flavor, design becomes much more apparent.

Badly designed, lack of flavor, and all around a terrible start that gives 0 hope for a set.

Wow........ I appriciate the in depth analysis but man things have changed in 2 years lol. It's fine, I am extremely rusty anyway so a Taster card was merely a idea I had... Looks like I will need to really get my head down and Brainstorm from now on. Thanks again for the Critique though.

Also to add that Fairy Pokemon are going to be doing something to Dragon's. Like the Ally of Justic to DARKS. I will admit that I kinda rushed this effect though. Give me a little while and I will make it a more fitting effect for Sylveon.

EDIT: Well here is the update. I tried to feel like I was Sylveon for the redone effect.... Her Helping Hand to reduce the Level by 1 and Life Gain as well.

So...have Fairy-Types in the grave, begin to spam this guy over and over. I can already imagine ways to fill the grave up with monsters, and recycle them quickly. This isn't card breaking, though. Just alerts me to a potential problem.

When this monster is Special Summoned, you can Banish up to 5 Dragon-Type monsters from either players hand, field or Graveyard. Inflict 800 damage to your opponent for each Dragon-Type monster Banished using this monster's effect.

So...it can potentially do 4000 damage. Just by being summoned. From anywhere on the field, grave, or hand, too? That's pretty much a free 4000. And since he's in your grave anyway, you can just summon him again. Yay for a walking OTK.

Also, how does the hand part work? You get to see your opponent's hand? Even if they didn't have a Dragon, you just gained knowledge of their hand. Yay. Also, banishing opponent's stuff in general is usually a counter to a deck.  So these 2 lines of the effect make this OP as hell.

This summoning can net you, if coming from the grave, +1 from summoning, and +2, +3, +4, +5, and potentially a +6 if you remove all the Dragons from the opponent's field or hand.

...

Once per turn you can Banish 1 Dragon-Type monster from your opponent's field or Graveyard to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or below LIGHT monster from your Deck in face-up Attack Position.

+1. Because why not?
