JadenxAtemYAOI
My question. Why is it banned? Is there some combo that lets Mask of Darkness be recycled and keep on spamming Crush Card or is it some other reason?
AGATHODAIMON BANGTAIL COW
It's banned because there are a lot of Decks out there that simply get wrecked by it. It automatically knocks out all bosses your opponent has, plenty of non-boss monsters, lets you know what your opponent has in the hand, and what your opponent draws for three turns (as well as potentially killing their Draw Phase). So, same reason EEV is Limited: it just hurts so much.
Blake
I mean, EEV should be banned and DDV limited or banned. These are not fair cards for a remotely healthy gamestate, and even most degenerate ones.

Delibirb
Doesn't the 1500 or less one wreck majority decks more though or are the days of low level swarming monsters finally over? You misread. It kills 1500 or more monsters. Would you want Shaddolls with access to a CCV? Because Hedgehog and Falcon are common and viable targets for CCV's cost. She was talking about DDV, which is also unfairly powerful and wrecks many Decks just because all of their monsters aren't brickheaded beatsticks (in addition to whatever they have that makes that Deck viable). We really shouldn't have any of the Viruses (Planet Pollutant/Cell Explosion don't count).
wightpower
I've personally had a bunch of duels in Traditional Format against an opponent who has all three viruses, and uses them with impunity (only 1 copy of each, thank god). I wouldn't mind all three being banned, actually. Any time any of them are activated, it's basically three turns of my field being wiped and me losing whatever I draw until my Life Points hit zero. If the viruses simply prevented you from summoning the monsters or activating the cards they target face-up, I'd have no qualms about them, but because of how they ruin anything you draw as well (and even face-downs), I'd love to see them all banned. evilfusion
Crush Card is extremely easy to activate with almost no cost. A DARK with 1000 or less ATK is significantly easier to produce than a DARK with 2000 or 2500 ATK, and it kills powerful monsters. While the other Viruses can be similarly powerful, they're not nearly as easy to activate, and their effectiveness is strictly dependant on the matchup. They're still not healthy cards to have around, but that's why Crush Card got axed and the others not yet.
wightpower
True. Those traditional format duels usually involve my opponent buffing their DARK monsters before they can trigger EEV and DDV. Crush Card is significantly easier to play.
