Zauls
For some reason I've not seen as many people play this card recently. Any reason?
Maeriberii Haan
Idk. Especially since with all the BTS, monster hate S/Ts, mask change and pals, things that needs to get run over, etc, this become superior to MST when tight on slot. :^)
People Run It. Drawing it at the right time is usually the issue.
Master Hyperion
Because MST, Wiretap and Trap Stun are far more superior. Wiretap has the ability to stop cards like Black Horn of Heaven, Debunk and even Solemn Warning, and being Spell Speed 3 makes it almost unstoppable unless you're opponent has another Wiretap. Trap Stun has the ability to completely lockdown your opponent's backrow that isn't Book of Moon and can bait out Wiretaps. MST is still good because it can be used at any time, meaning it can hit new backrow cards, so your opponent cannot chain to it. It also can be used as a proper bluff card since its always chainable and punishes your opponent for popping backrow blindly. Also, it hits Continuous/Field cards, which is always good. All that Lance has is that it either protects 1 monster or allows you to run over something, but those uses are only good in specific decks like Fire fists, because they can actually take advantage of it. Also, making space for MST in your sideboard is a f***ing nightmare because you rather want to side hate against decks that you have a bad match-up against. I agree that Lance is particularly good in decks that rely on battle to get their effects going. But literally any deck can enjoy the flexibility of either protecting their monsters from spells and traps or destroying something by battle. Literally any deck. Trap Stun I don't disagree with you at all. Wiretap is getting a lot of hype but honestly it's gonna die down pretty soon. Of course it shines in grind out games; duels that that are filled with 1 for 1 exchanges. But if stopping 1 trap consistently won you games then 7 tools would have been played more (7 tools is a fine card but was far from popular). MST and Lance are too different to compare directly IMO
Lonk
It stops your opponent from Mask Changing.

SirReal
The way I see it, Lance is a better topdeck than MST in most situations as you will pretty much be able to immediately go off without much fear of backrow. I have disliked wiretap for this very reason. "I would have liked you a turn ago..."
Wizarus
Wiretap hype will go down when people realize it has the same problems Seven Tools has. Forbidden Lance is still a good card to run, and is arguably the best generic option against backrow since you can keep it in your hand.
~Faytl~
It stops your opponent from Mask Changing. Also stops them from using Rank-Up, for what that's worth.

Yes, because Wiretap requires you to pay 1000 LP, doesn't stop cards like Debunk, Black Horn of Heaven and Warning, and triggers Artifact Sanctum's destruction effect when Wiretap is able to negate it, and doesn't fat up your opponent's deck. I'm sorry, but how does it have the same problems as Seven Tools again? Just because its not a Quick-play Spell card doesn't make it horrible. In fact, Wiretap being a Counter Trap makes it even better.

Weak to Blind any S/T destruction, but the main problem Seven Tools had and Wiretap has is that you never know when you'll need them until you need them. Unless you can be sure your opponent is running cards that only they can deal with, they are inferior to cards like Lance and Trap Stun.

The main cards people use to deal with backrow all have their advantages and disadvantages.
