ems97
Articuno the ice bird. With its ability Hailstorm, it both supports WATER monsters and damage others that are not WATER. Flash Flyer - Sakura
2 Level 6 Aqua-Type monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; WATER monsters gain 500 ATK/DEF, also non-WATER monsters lose 500 ATK/DEF. On a sidenote, the only monsters that'll fit the requirements for Level 6 Aqua are: Boulder Tortoise, Evigishki Gustkraken/Mind Augus/Tetraogre, Mobius, Gem-Knight Aquamarine; first one is a Japanese vanilla, the others are Ritual/Fusion monsters. Explain why would you want to expend several resources just to SS them and then go into this card, when they're perfectly fine on their own. I would advise changing the requirements to WATER monsters instead and lower its Rank to 5 (in that same vein, lower the ATK to 2500). Going into flavor, Articuno's abilities are Pressure (which increase the amount of PP expended in attacks) and Snow Cloak (raising evasion in hail). There is no such thing as the Hailstrom ability. It's also more of a defensive Pokemon (stats should reflect it as such), but I'll leave this out. Effect-wise, while it does help WATER oriented Decks get some needed power to destroy things in battle, or simply soften up a monster, as mentioned several times in the past, stat boosting is an old concept and is severely outdated in today's game. If this existed back in 2005 or something, then yeah it would do something. Nowadays, it will die to every form of removal (including 101/Exciton). If you wanted to design a card based on Articuno, you should research what its abilities are and design the effects accordingly.
