You don't want to meet the bush bugs! Massive support for insects

Recommended Posts

Haha! Sticking to my recent insect and plant type theme which I haven't yet posted, I made this to support the level 1 monsters because there is a fair few. It is quite a beast, it'll probably be the "monster" of the set but you would have to accomodate it with a lot of low level monsters. However, as soon as it is on the field, it gains 900 addition attack and defense points so yeah...

Effect: "This monster cannot be Tribute Summoned unless you banish 3 Insect-type monsters from your Graveyard during your Battle Phase, you may then Tribute Summon it. Up to twice per turn while this monster remains in face-up on your side of the field, you may banish 1 Insect-type monster from your Graveyard and add 1 Level 3 or lower Insect-type monster from your Deck to your hand. Increase this monster's attack and defense by 300 for every Insect monster that is banished."

All feedback appreciated! ;)

Trying to figure out what this card does so i can offer OCG alternative...

Define the Summoning method,...:

  • You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) during your Battle Phase by banishing 3 Insect-Type monsters in your Graveyard.
  • This card cannot be Tribute Summoned, unless you banish 3 Insect-Type monsters from your Graveyard at the end of your Battle Phase.
  • During you Battle Phase, if you control a monster: banish 3 Insect-Type monsters  from your Graveyard; Tribute Summon this card (this counts as your 1 Normal Summon/Set per turn).
  • During you Battle Phase, if you control a monster: banish 3 Insect-Type monsters  from your Graveyard; Tribute Summon this card (this does not counts as your 1 Normal Summon/Set per turn).

...then add the optional effect...:

  • Up to twice per turn: you can target 1 Insect-Type monster in your Graveyard; banish the target and add 1 Level 3 Insect-Type monster from your Deck to your hand.

(This effect is a bit unbalanced to me, would be better if you limit it to only once per turn)

...and the continuous effect:

  • This card gains 300 ATK and DEF for each of your banished Insect-Type monsters.

OR

  • This card gains 300 ATK and DEF for each of your Insect-Type monsters banished by this card's effects.

How I see it:

This monster cannot be Tribute Summoned unless you banish 3 Insect-type monsters from your Graveyard During your Battle Phase: You can reveal this card from your hand; banish 3 Insect-Type monsters from your Graveyard may then Tribute Summon it. Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set unless you have activated this effect this turn. Up to twice per turn: while this monster remains in face-up on your side of the field, You may can banish 1 Insect-Type monster from your Graveyard; and add 1 Level 3 or lower Insect-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. Increase This monster's gains 300 ATK and DEF by 300 for each every banished Insect-Type monster that is banished.

Did I mention that Terminal World, which disables the Main Phase 2, renders this card completely useless?

It's already mildly difficult for an Insect Deck to set up a good Graveyard without losing valuable material (and the lack of Insect support that interacts with banishment), but the fact that you have to enter the Battle Phase to do it, exit it with a monster intact, and then Tribute Summon this card, already creates a lot of points for a Summon attempt to fail. And this is before you even start Normal Summoning this thing.

What do we get, though? An initial 1-trib 2000/2000 that can jump to 2600/2600 and spiral up from there. The problem is having good Insects to run alongside or tutor with this card that don't mind getting banished to feed it. Generally, a letdown.

Well this was mainly support for the level 1/3 insect cards that I was working on rather than a real life insect deck, they would support this card far more. Their card effects generally allow you to discard insects to the graveyard then further banish them and what not. But anyway, thanks for the feedback and corrections, I'll update the grammar.
