藤原之足久
i thought of new monster card type called checkmate which has light grey and dark gray checkers all over the card background (like a mix between synchro and xyz) they have no level/rank, are used in the main deck, and are based around moving to the monster card zone and the spell card zone once per turn, unless the effect specifies it can use both effects in one turn. a checkmate monster can be special summoned from the hand by tributing 1 or more monsters with atk or def that add up to or are higher than the amount specified on a card, much like galaxy eyes photon dragon. it can move back and forth from monster card zone to spell/trap card zone once per turn. for example: in the opponents battle phase you can move a checkmate monster into the spell zone to negate an attack, then into the monster zone to redirect the attack to it, two different effects that can be used for offensive/defensive duel strategies. if you can give me honest feedback or balancing tips/improvements, it would be helpful, thank you! Jamorc
Prototype inspired by your idea. I will make an actual Checkmate monster later, although I might not use the checkers as they don't look great from my experience. I think your idea is really good but I would, as you can see in this card, only allow 1.
藤原之足久
oh man! it looks amazing! i didn't think about the design being more like a trap pendulum card, but it fits. i edited the rulings a little bit, so in order to summon a checkmate card from your hand (rather than the extra deck, like before) you would have to tribute monsters who have ATK or DEF (specified on the card) that add up to the checkmate card's attack specified on the card (a zombie checkmate card would need 2 monsters with exactly 0 DEF to summon it, etc)
