Ancient Lamp

During your Main Phase: You can Special Summon "La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp" from your hand. This card must be face-up on the field to activate and to resolve this effect. Before damage calculation, if this card is being attacked by an opponent's monster, and was face-down at the start of the Damage Step: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls, except the attacking monster; the attacking monster attacks it instead, and you proceed to damage calculation.

Let's be honest. This is the, if not, one of the, silliest cards to ever exist. I mean, the whole idea of redirecting attacks of the Opponent's monsters to other monsters they control is just out-right hilarious. Like, more often then not, the Opponent is going to loose a monster from this card; They attack with something stronger/weaker, then it make it run over/run into whatever else they have.
'Course, the fact destruction-by-battle isn't as commonplace, but still, the fact you have that much control over what the Opponent is attacking, is outright hilarious.

Discuss.

Anyways, Ancient Lamp reminds me of Magical Arm Shield, as both have very similar effects. If this card did not have such lackluster stats (at least give it considerable amount of DEF, like 2000) and was Level 4, I would almost consider it a possible tech option in Village Spellcaster Stun/Lock based Decks. Also, why is it a Spellcaster-type exactly? Never understood that.

It's a Spellcaster because we assume there's a genie in there, if it was an empty lamp it would be Rock or something.

Really? Never thought about it that way. For some reason, it looked as if it would be Machine-type to me.. Maybe it is Spellcaster-type because of La Jinn perhaps?
