With this forum topic I want to show you all one of my archtypes called "Eruden".

The idea behind the archtype is using "Flip summon" (pseudo flip effect's and flip effects) combined with synchro summon.

I am aware that synchro need face-up to synchro summon. More comming "soon"!

I've changed and changed to much, that's why I've made this topic to ask some feedback.

Eruden comes from ERUBUS and DEN. I was searching "cooler" words for underground and cave until i stumbled upon these words and combined them.

It's impossible to judge the entire archetype completely since you're posting only one card how fast or slow the archetype will be, especially if it's one of the bosses. Right now, since it is Level 12, I'm presuming that you will normally have to use more than two monsters to Synchro Summon this card. Overall, the entire play to get this card out would require at least three monsters since the Tuner has to be a Synchro Monster. Therefore, at the very least, you could Synchro Summon this with the Synchro Tuner and one other monster whose total Levels add up to 12, but again, it's somewhat implied that it's going to take more effort than that.

Now, onto the effect. It can't attack during the turn that it is Summoned since it immediately flips itself facedown. Then, it can't even be revived by CotH, and I am completely unaware of how many cards you plan to have this card revived by. There are only two generic cards that could SS this card face-down (IIRC), one of them is a -1 that lets your opponent use their card before you, and the other has a hefty Life Point cost. Considering the amount of effort you presumably need to put into this card, the slowness of not letting it attack on the turn that it is Summoned hurts the card's playability lots.

Right now, this card is best compared to the Level 8 semi-generic Synchro Monster Beelze of the Diabolic Dragons, who has 3000 ATK and complete immunity to any sort of destruction (as well as a mostly irrelevant ATK-gaining effect). Your monster has 1000 more ATK, sure, but ATK scores above 3000 are usually overkill since there are only a few more monsters that can be destroyed in battle than could be with a monster with 3000 ATK. This extra ATK is basically going to offer you more damage, run over the other 3000 ATK monsters without losing your own monster, and allows you to play cards like Forbidden Lance and Forbidden Dress to further protect your card while still winning battles in practically every case because, again, most monsters don't peak over 3000 ATK.

Another major flaw that this card is that its ATK becomes 4000 by a card effect. There are three monster effect negation cards in the game: Effect Veiler, Fiendish Chain, and Breakthrough Skill. Out of the three, Breakthrough Skill is the one being used the most widely at the given moment. Unlike the other two, it can be activated as this monster attacks (well, Fiendish can as well, but it stops the attack), and it effectively makes you attack with a monster that has 1400 ATK (in most cases you're going to lose that battle and your monster that you've put so much effort into). Another weakness that this card has is that its immunity to effect destruction is only temporary, so your opponent can usually take this out as quickly as any other monster as either the immunity has ended or you flipped it face-down (which prevents its effect destruction immunity from working). Being killable is ok, but considering the amount of effort you'll usually put into this card, it would really suck for this card to be taken out so easily since this is a -2 (you lose two cards to get the Synchro Tuner, and then that card along with another one to get this one card - at best) in terms of card advantage.

Now for a bit of minor nitpicking. In the card's name, diamond is spelled wrong. Having it spelled incorrectly is ok, but it'd be nice to let us know if you were doing it on purpose. Furthermore, there are two types of instances where a card is flipped from a face-down position to a face-up position. The one you're using is Flip Summon, which is when the controller of the card flips the card up on his/her own will (like setting Man-Eater Bug face-down, and then flipping it up on the next turn). Every time this happens, the card is switched to Attack Position, so you don't need to mention that the card switches itself to Attack Position. The other kind of flipping is by either a card effect or an attack, and can leave the flipped monster in Defense Position. Flip Summons count as this kind of flipping as well. Compare the cards Nightmare Penguin and Guardian Sphinx. If a face-down Guardian Sphinx is attacked, its effect that returns all of your opponent's monsters to the hand does not get to activate. It only activates exclusively when its controller flips it face-up during the Main Phase. On the other hand, Nightmare Penguin still gets to use its effect even if it is attacked while face-down. If you Flip Summon Nightmare Penguin, its effect can activate at that time as well.

So, right now, the card you've posted isn't really worth the effort I'm guessing is needed to Summon it, but again, I can't really tell how easy or hard it will be to bring this card out.

Thank you for your reply.

I've changed minor things (name and regarding the flip summon effect of changing in attack position).

I thought that a temporary immunity would be more balanced because this card has 4000 DEF and

with effect 4000 ATK. I've choosen for 1400 ATK to avoid "Bottemless traphole when this card is summoned.

I also didn't dare to incease it's attack because A: it has a high DEF, B: Most  "Eruden" monsters have a higher DEF than ATK.

As for now it's to early to drastically change "Eruden Diamond Scale's" effect if needed although it seems lv 10 works better.

I also added the field spell "Guarded cave", "Eruden Gold" , "Erudus the Eruden Broodmother" and "Eruden Egg.

BUMP

Added to "Eruden Diamon scale"  Until the end of your  next turn to enhance it's  effect. The effect is only active for 2 turn + you need to flip summon succesfully this card which only can happen in your opponent's turn when or He/she  attack's and doesn't activate in response or you flip summon it in your next turn destroying any backrow which is morel likely to happen. I also changed the levels from lv12 to lv10  and changed it to  "Eruden" Tuner in place of "Eruden synchro tuner making the card easier to summon.

(See post  post #1 first card)

Example 1: normal summon "Eruden Sapphire", special summon "Eruden Emerald" (it's own effect) the special summon "Erubus the Eruden Broodmother", activate it's effect and summon an "Eruden egg". Tribute "Eruden Egg" to special summon either "Eruden Limestone" or "Eruden Amethyst".  lv 2 tuner + lv 8 monster

Example 2: Activate "Guarded cave" second effect and  (once per duel) pay half your life points 'reveal' Eruden monsters to special summon 3  "Eruden" monster's which level is 4 or lower (including a tuner offcourse).

2x "lv 4 monster"+ "lv 2 tuner" or 2 "lv 3 monster" +"lv 4 tuner" or 1 "lv 4 monster" + 1 "lv 3 monster + 1 "lv 3 tuner".

Any feedback is welcome :). Still 10 cards to go Including Eruden Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, Limestone, Amethyst.

I've tryed to balance Eruden monsters so they cannot be manipulated by Dragon Ruler (and other attribute card's )their effects.

-Because I've added: "This card cannot be special summoned face up by a spell, trap or monster effect except by a "Eruden" card."you can't use Redox Dragon Ruler of Boulder's effect (1) nor Special Summon most "Eruden" monsters with "D.D.R - Different Dimension Reincarnation (2).

-You can still use Redox Dragon Ruler of Boulder's effect to add an EARTH Dragon-Type monster(3).

-Changed  cards 11/20, 12/20, 13/20, 14/20 Attribute from WATER, WIND, FIRE, WATER attribute. to  EARTH. (4)

-Also I've removed "graveyard from their effect to gain an additional attribute (4), Changed the attribute gained from effect to FIRE, WATER, WIND and LIGHT (Originaly EARTH). ALso cards 11/20, 12/20, 13/20, 14/20 where WATER, WIND, FIRE, WATER attribute. before they where Earth attribute. Redox Dragon Ruler of Boulder's can only be used for the synchro summon of "Eruden Diamond Scale" because the other's are lv 7 or lower synchro monster(s). (5)

(5) Redox Dragon Ruler of Boulder EARTH Dragon lv7 ATK 1600 DEF 3000 (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Redox,_Dragon_Ruler_of_Boulders)

(2), (4) If this card is in your hand or Graveyard: You can banish a total of 2 EARTH and/or Dragon-Type monsters from your hand and/or Graveyard, except this card; Special Summon this card. During your opponent's End Phase, if this card was Special Summoned: Return it to the hand.

(1)You can discard this card and 1 EARTH monster to the Graveyard, then target 1 monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. (3)If this card is banished: You can add 1 EARTH Dragon-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use 1 "Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders" effect per turn, and only once that turn.
