Braviary & Mandibuzz

Well decided to do the birds from Unova: Braviary and Mandibuzz. What do you guys think about these cards. Image belongs to:

Edit: Switching Mandibuzz ATK/DEF stats

 

 

2 Level 5 monsters

When this card battles a monster that hass 2000 or less ATK: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; any battle damage inflicted is doubled.

 

 

2 Level 5 monsters

Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; halve this card's DEF, and if you do, this card gains ATK equal to that amount.

There's gotta be some better art for Mandibuzz.  Other than that, I like these.

 

One thing though.  You should switch Mandibuzz's ATK and DEF and change the effect to match since Mandibuzz is(or was) a tank in competitive play.

You could use this for Mandibuzz art.  Would only need to do a bit of cropping.

At least you've been reading some of the comments in your other threads.

 

In terms of Braviary, I'm assuming this effect is supposed to be representing Sheer Force. As a whole, a generic Rank 5 monster with a 2600 ATK body is nice; combined with the extra damage. It is limited to monsters with 2000 or less ATK, so not so great with the more common cards in the game but it can just kill them normally if it has to. Because this card is LIGHT, keep in mind that LIGHT monsters have a heavy amount of support (including Honest). Personally, Braviary fits more of a WIND Attribute.

 

As it is now, there are a few LIGHT decks that could feasibly make this card (and offer some of their support).

 

Mandibuzz's effect is based on Weak Armor, but this generation of YGO is about card removal. Sure, you can make this become a 3750 ATK beater on turn 1, but what does that do against cards such as 101, Exciton and the like? It has Overcoat, however, which could translate into effect protection of some sort; that would be more beneficial to Mandibuzz. Also note that her attacking stats are awful; but defenses are excellent. You should switch it though in the card, but it doesn't always need to correlate with its counterpart in-game.
