Darj
When this card is activated: You can add 1 Flip monster from your Deck to your hand. If a face-down Flip monster you control is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can activate its Flip Effect (the monster activates its effect in the Graveyard). You can only activate 1 "Blessings of the False Prophet" per turn. Artwork source: http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=44589900 I posted this first as a Written Card but I found an image related to it so after a name change I am reposting it in this section. Originally it was meant to depict Shekhinaga but I couldn't find any alternate artwork of her, while I found this Midrash fan art, thus I went for her instead. By the way, since Flips are an official sub-type now, I am using "Flip monster" instead of "Flip Effect Monster". Flavor-wise and to stay true with the DT plotline, you could say that Midrash, taking advantage of her appearance of a former Gusto, approached Pirika to win her trust through promises of aiding her and the other tribes, only to inflitrate and attack the Sacred Tree, as seen on "El Shaddoll Fusion" where Pirika is also depicted.
- To put it simply, the FLIP effect also gains the condition "If this face-down card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: [Insert Flip Effect here]". The PSCT is to make clear that it's the monster who activates its own effect, and thus it can be stopped by Soul Drain, Abyss Dweller, Debunk, etc. - This card's second effect is continuous so it doesn't start a chain (but the Flip effects activated in the Graveyard will do). - This card's second effect is not involved in the activation and resolution of the Flip Effect from the graveyard. This means that negating or destroying this card in response to the activation of a Flip Effect from the grave (e.g. chaining MST) shouldn't cancel the monster's effect, as it has already been activated. He/she would have to destroy/negate this card before the face-down Flip monster is destroyed to prevent you from activating it in the first place.
Basically, it is a Tenki for Flip monsters that makes them more reliable by allowing them to activate their effects if they are destroyed by a card effect. I decided to go for a ROTA effect in order to make the second effect live; otherwise, having this card on hand but no Flip monsters to support would be unpleasant. Plus, any deck/archetype with at least 1 Flip monster (e.g. Cartaros, GK Spy, Westlo, Ryko, Gishki Ariel, Kamui) would benefit from a searcher like this. And I know this would also support Shaddolls, which I understand it is a slippery slope because they are too damn powerful already and don't deserve further support, but it is quite difficult to support Flip Effects without indirectly supporting them, unless I add restrictions that would also affect non-Shaddoll Flip Monsters, and excluding them with a "except Shaddoll monsters" restriction would both look awful and go against the card's intended flavor. Toffee.
That artwork is really fucked up. That aside, and not to seem like a killjoy, but.... Do Shaddolls really need a RotA? I mean, yes, it has a rather large pool of targets outside of that, and discourages your Opponent from blindly destroying your Set monsters on the off chance they actually ARE FLIP monsters, but again, Shaddolls having a RotA would prove to be iffy. Darj
That artwork is really f***ed up. What do you mean with that? Does it look bad? or it implies something disgusting that I am missing? Either way, there are few Shaddolls fan arts out there, and this was the only I could find that resembles a Shaddoll giving a blessing/power to something/someone. But if it is that much of an issue, I could drop the "card is related to Shaddolls" thing and take a different approach. And as I explained in the OP, I agree that a ROTA for Shaddolls is awful but, again, I can't make Flip support without indirectly helping Shaddolls, and outright excluding Shaddolls from being affected by it feels unfair. And if a go for a different effect (e.g. a floating effect), then there is the risk of drawing this card but no Flips to buff, essentially becoming dead, or drawing this too late after your Flips are already gone from the field. Toffee.
What do you mean with that? No. The artwork is fine. Honest. It depicts the whole process of said monster in question being possessed/etc in order to become Midrash. So it's fine.
