[8-Card Set] Introducing the Marionette Archetype!

Hello, this is my first proper post here on YCM, but I'm fairly experienced with creating Custom Cards. Anyway, here's an archetype based on marionettes. Please let me know your thoughts and/or suggestions!

[spoiler=Strategies and Combos:]

The archetype on its own is certainly small, and you could say that half the Main Deck monsters are barely needed. However, this archetype is not designed to be used on its own. For example, Lightsworns can work well with the deck, sending Normal monsters and Aradia to the graveyard, Aradia adding Aceline to your hand for an easy Synchro. However, Lightsworns also pose the risk of sending Aceline to the graveyard, something which is not beneficial.

Basic combos of the deck involve Aradia and Aceline; Aradia being able to quickly summon Synchros with Aceline while providing another Aceline to the hand at the same time and Aceline being able to instantly Xyz or Synchro Summon when she is summmoned. Marionettes also introduce Gemini Synchros, which count as Normal Monsters in the graveyard, making them potential targets for Aceline. This makes Araderon a great wall for the Marionettes and Aradoryu a great beat-stick. However, major flaws of the Marionettes is the inability to recover resources without the assistance of their Maison, but even then, lack the sufficient draw power to get the cards they need in their hand once they use them all up.

Please abide by the 24 hour bump rule. Yes, this section is dead at times, but you must wait a full day until you can bump again.

With that said, some general comments.

- Aceline is essentially set-up for those two Synchros (or any Level 6-8 one), or can help in making a Rank 3-5 Xyz if you chose to do so. Generally speaking, there are a wide array of monsters that can be Special Summoned quickly with this one card.

- Aradia essentially tutors a new Aceline when it leaves the field. Essentially, have Aceline summon this card from graveyard; Synchro into any Level 6-8, then get another one. At the most, it ensures you have a monster to use next turn or something along those lines.

- Maison gives a small pump to your monsters, whilst allowing you a second Normal Summon to either Synchro/Xyz or whatever. As for the second one, I can see it returning a copy of Aradia to the Deck, so you can search her out again; but where are you returning it from? You need to specify.

- No Strings is pretty much burn for whenever a Marionette goes to the Graveyard. Though, if 2+ Marionettes went to the graveyard (let's say for a Synchro); how would you determine which monster's ATK will be inflicted as burn? Do you have a choice of which one, or do you use the higher/lower of the two? Might want to clear this one up.

- The Extra Deck monsters' effects will not work; as you cannot Normal Summon monsters that belong in the Extra Deck (except for Pendulums, but we're not talking about them here). You need to fix this part.

I was aware of the bump rules, but I'm still getting used to the time conversion of this website, as I live in an odd timezone not equal to YCM's, so I'm having underestimations of time. I intended for the first 3 observations, but yes, I'll need to fix up No Strings. As for your last observation, I feel like making a new concept of sorts, Normal Summoning the Synchro instead of using your normal Normal Summon (if you'll forgive the repetition of 'normal'). I'm aware this night alter game-mechanics but I still find it interesting for Gemini Synchros.

The bump rule is set on your own timezone, not on that of YCM. I should probably clarify that in the main rules in case it needs to be cleared up.

Don't worry though, you're not the only one who has this problem.

As for Maison's return effect, where are you going to be shuffling the monster from; the field, your hand, banished zone, grave?

In terms of the Gemini Synchros, while they are interesting, I'll have to move this topic to AoC (you'll still get the same quality of comments in there; just that Gemini Synchros are a new concept to the game, and need to be placed there). As a rule of thumb, Realistic Cards pretty deals with cards that work "normally" like you'd expect the mechanics to play out.
