[Post-Contest Tune-Up] Yuki-Onna

Trebuchet MS

It's been a while since I've done these things, and I've lost track of the original 1v1 that I've used this for. Nevertheless...
Cannot be Special Summoned. During the End Phase of the turn this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up: Return it to the hand. When this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up: Target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; that target cannot attack, activate its effect(s), or be used as Material for a Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Summon.
Essentially, Yuki-Onna does her work like a Blizzard Dragon on steroids, freezing a face-up monster and turning it into almost dead weight, rendering it unable to attack, activate its effects, or be used as Material. To prevent it from being absolutely dead weight and turning Yuki-Onna into a field-clogger, the controller still can Tribute it, or attempt to turtle by changing its battle position. Any passive effects that monster might sport are unaffected as well.

CnC would be appreciated. It's unedited since its last posting.

I'm super confused as to what you want me to do.

The title says contest... Am I supposed to compete?

Or do I just rate the card?

"Post-Contest Tune Up"
As in, he's had this card before but now it's after the contest he put it in and now he's refined it a bit and posted it again.

It puts Dustons to shame, haha.

I'm rather liking it. It slips into the wide range of Spirits perfectly. Heck with the art, you can hardly tell it's not real. I feel we need more monsters that put the opponent's ones on ice rather than destruction. The only issue is that you'll just be able to repetitively get this out until the opponent is locked down. It's not super easy to do, but it's not that difficult. Not to mention multiple copies in hand+any extra summon card could speed the process up.

Maybe make it to where only a limited number of monsters can be affected by her effect at a time? I'm not too sure.

It blanket freezing like it does stops a death by Lava Golem or things like that, which is good.

Oh okay.

"During the End Phase, if this card was Normal Summoned or flipped face-up this turn: Return it to the hand."

And...

"When this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up: Target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; that target cannot attack or activate its effects, also it cannot be used as a Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Material for a Summon."

Slow, as all Spirits are, but powerful.  This effect in my opinion is AWESOME.  It locks an opponent's monster out completely.  To be honest I think it might be OP.  Target 1 monster... Opp is screwed... Summons another, then targets it again... Since it returns to hand (as all Spirits do) your opponent is completely reliant on Quick effects, Quickplay Spells, and Traps to stop it.  Very Punishing and good card.

The freezing effect s actually quite balance considering the monster is a Spirit and all. It reminds me of cards like the Unhappy Maiden in a way except that you don't actually need to attack. For the Freezing effect, perhaps make it until your opponent's 2nd Standby Phase after activation. Having it forever frozen would slow the game down to a crawl. But the frozen monster can still be used for Tributes or to pay for Card Effects so there is that.

Also perhaps limit it up to a certain Level. I understand that your purpose was to Cockblock big monsters but maybe I am going too in depth here.

The Freezing effect is made better that it's a spirit.  The freezing effect is permanent and since it bounces itself to the field it essentially makes it once per turn.

And to the OP in regarding what to nerf:  nothing really, leave the effect as is.  Just b/c a card is OP doesn't mean it's badly designed, the card is slow, gives your opponent time to figure something out (if they can't, then they deserve to lose), and overall well-designed.
