Maeriberii Haan
First of all, I guess a short-ish introduction would be necessary. Well, Spell Card Daily will (hopefully) be a series of Spell Cards singles that I post every day here in RC, with the artwork are all from this fanmade TCG of Touhou. The card names are all based on the title of each images from the artists' Pixiv. But yeah, the plan is to see how far I can go until I ran out of all ideas. So, enjoy, I guess. ""Embryo's Dream" From Yumeno Kyuusaku's sci-fi novel Dogra Magra, where the human embryo is said to be dreaming of the evolution of life, from microbes to fish to mammals. When this card is activated, banish 1 monster from your deck face-down. If you do, you can banish 1 monster from your deck. This effect of "Embryo's Dream" can only be activated once per turn. You cannot banish cards with the same type using this card's effect. If you have 4 or more cards that was banished by this card's effect, you can banish this card; add the card banished face-down by this card to your hand, then send the other cards to the graveyard. [spoiler='Notes'] -The card used to have the following sentence, but I decided to remove it."When this card is removed from the field by an opponent's card effect, shuffle all cards banished by this card's effect to the deck, then draw 1 card." -This card is mainly designed with Spirit Beast in mind. -I actually have no idea on how to word the second clause, so yeah.[/spoiler] CnC? also I definitely didn't steal the series's name from Toyo's Xyz Daily. Nope, not at all
Darj
Regarding the last effect, apparently a single copy cannot banish 4+ cards by itself to trigger the second effect, so I believe the condition of said effect should be: If you have 4 or more cards that were banished by this card's effect the effect of "Embryo's Dream": You can banish this card; add the card banished face-down by this card to your hand, then send the other cards to the graveyard. This way it will take into account the card's banished by other copies of Embryo. One question, though: if, while resolving this effect, you have 1+ face-down card banished by other copies of Embryo, would they also be sent to the grave by this effect? That issue aside, the card looks fun: On one hand, if you use it as a generic searcher or miller, it is slow, impractical and punishable if the opponent destroys it before its second effect resolves; also as MST bait it appears to be worse than Shard of Greed. On the other hand, it has advantageous interactions with cards that trigger effects when banished, namely Necroface, Dragon Rulers, Necloth Archmage and Exa, and I suspect more cards with "when this card is banished" effects will be released in the future; that gives this card a niche in certain decks. However, in both cases it is arguably worse than Gold Sarcophagus, which is also a generic searcher and triggers "when this card is banished" effects, but at least this card wouldn't be Limited; actually, this card would be used as an additional copy of Gold Sarc. Suggested OCG fix: When this card is activated: Banish 1 monster from your Deck face-down, and If you do, you can banish from your Deck 1 monster with a different Type from that monster. You can only use this effect of "Embryo's Dream" once per turn. If you have 4 or more cards that were banished by the effect of "Embryo's Dream": You can banish this card; add the card banished face-down by this card's effect to your hand, then send the other [acronym=Include this if you don't want it to recycle face-down cards banished by other copies of "Dream's Embryo][face-up][/acronym] cards banished by the effect of "Embryo's Dream" to the Graveyard. Maeriberii Haan
Oh, I was meaning to make the second effect to be an once per turn ignition effect. How about that? I guess I messed up on the wording and stuff Thanks for the review.
Darj
I see. That would make the card a bit better as you wouldn't need a second copy to make the last effect live, but would still be slow by taking at least 3 turns to go off. So, if I got it right, you want the card to banish a card face-down no activation, banish a card from the deck OPT, and when it gathers 4+ cards, banish it to retrieve the face-down card and send to rest to the grave? In that case, I suppose the OCG would be something like this: When this card is activated: Banish 1 monster from your Deck face-down. You can only use this effect of "Embryo's Dream" once per turn. Once per turn: You can banish 1 monster from your Deck face-up with a different Type than the monster banished face-down. If you have 4 or more cards that were banished by this card's effect: You can banish this card; add the card banished face-down by this card's effect to your hand, then send the other cards banished by this card's effect to the Graveyard. If you want it to interact with other copies to make it safer (e.g. copy #1 banishes 3 cards, gets destroyed, copy #2 banishes the 4th one and becomes live), replace [this card's effect] with [the effect of "Embryo's Dream"]. Maeriberii Haan
It's mainly designed as an OPT pinpoint banishing with an added gimmick after all that can also set up the grave. And yeah, that's what I mean. Alright, I think I'll make it work with the other copies, since in this current form, it's not really usable in most decks. thanks.
