stardust warrior (proper text)

Recommended Posts

was checking over the cards, and I noticed this was not quite what I remember it being originally.

it's a bit buffed in it's replacement effect trigger, but it can no longer summon another copy of itself.

1 Tuner Synchro Monster + 1 or more non-Tuner Synchro Monsters
During either player's turn, when your opponent would Special Summon a monster(s): You can Tribute this card; negate the Special Summon, and if you do, destroy that monster(s). During the End Phase, if this effect was activated this turn (and was not negated): You can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. If this card is destroyed by battle, or if this face-up card you control leaves the field by an opponent's card effect and is still in your possession: You can Special Summon 1 Level 8 or lower "Warrior" Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Synchro Summon.)

so, it can grab however it's removed unless it's 101. that's quite a potent replacement effect, but the highest it can grab now is road warrior, which of course f you have a level eater in the grave, your just one step away from a quasar summon. or maybe even just moving back into another warrior.

so if you can't go into quasar, you got warrior to go into, which can later set you up to move into quasar after it's messed with the opponent by summoning road for you.

overall, I'm still really liking this card.

I won't comment on the effect because I'm not familiar with Synchrons and thus don't fully understand what kind of things they will be doing with this.

However, I am more interested on the implications of this card apparently being a "Warrior" form of Stardust Dragon. For instance, could the other Signer Dragons get "Warrior" forms as well in the future? That would be neat, although I know it is highly unlikely. But still, even if they don't Warrior forms, this card already serves as inpiration for making them ourselves (just like the Majestic Dragons and how people made Majestic forms for Black Rose).

Well, Yusei was the one who used "Warrior" Synchros, which is why Stardust is really the only one likely to get one. Both Jack and Yusei got Majestic forms.

Exactly. That's why I said it was highly unlikely. But still, I believe he owned or played other Signer Dragons at some point in the anime? I don't know because I didn't watch it.

The only time he used a Signer dragon that wasn't Stardust was during the duel against Z-ONE, where he used all six of them. Other than that, the only other instances of the dragons being shared is Luna and Leo sharing Ancient Fairy for one duel, Jack stealing Stardust and using it for one duel in the first season, and Akiza using Stardust Dragon against Team Unicorn.
