Trebuchet MS
Activate by targeting 1 Spell/Trap card your opponent controls; Set that target if it is face-up, also it cannot be activated. Your opponent cannot activate the targeted card in response to this card's activation. When that target leaves the field, destroy this card.
Went looking up how Anti-Spell Fragrance interacts with Pendulum Summons, and it turns out that card just destroys any Pendulum-reliant Deck, since Pendulum Monsters can't be Set into Pendulum Zones. So what happens if I create a card that could somehow turn a Pendulum Card face-down? Here's what I feel might happen: Since the Pendulum Zone remains occupied, no other Pendulum Cards can take its place, rendering the opponent completely incapable of Pendulum Summoning until this card is dealt with. Once it's done, the Set Pendulum Card can be turned face-up, like how a Spell is activated. Somewhere in the near future, I'm betting on Konami releasing cards capable of turning Pendulum Cards face-down, and providing an official answer to this conundrum. But of course, it's not just limited to Pendulum Cards. Opponent's Field Spell giving you trouble? Turn it face-down (super value if you turn off a Seal of Orichalcos this way). Dubious Set S/T preventing you from executing your plan perfectly? Play this card like a Xing Zhen Hu Replica. The ability to Set face-up S/Ts is a little niche that the XZHs (or nearly any other effect, for that matter) haven't explored yet.
Ryusei the Morning Star
It really is nice, I was thinking more annoying af floodgates but your idea does certainly work 9/10, I think to make it on a scale of MST in usefulness, make it so when this card is destroyed the card it's connected to is also destroyed
newhat
Straight-up outclasses Xing Zhen Hu Replica. Besides nailing Pendulums, it kind of works as a non-destructive Night Beam. In the long term MST is more efficient against non-Pendulums.
