Draconus297
Liar's Draw Continuous Spell Card As long as this card is face-up on the field, both players can draw up to three cards each Draw Phase. Every time either player draws a card (or cards), they must declare card names equal to the number of cards they drew. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a player declares a card name by this effect, their opponent can declare them a Liar- the player that just drew must then reveal the card they drew. If the card does not have the name they declared, that player must discard their entire hand to the Graveyard. If it does, the player who was declared a Liar gains 800 Life Points and cannot take Life Point damage this turn. Discuss.
Trebuchet MS
What happens if you complete Exodia during a draw-5 Draw Phase?
Draconus297
Well, if you're declared a Liar, you have to stop drawing, and if you said a wrong name . . . bye bye assembled pieces. Of course, if you said the right name, you get Life Points, but you still stop drawing.
Trebuchet MS
Then won't it end with both players calling each other Liars at every opportunity - namely the first card they draw? And since they're prone to being successfully called out for lying most of the time unless they've stacked their Decks, they're going to get Dropped Off about 90% of the time. Draconus297
You're misunderstanding- You actually get to look at each card before declaring a name. It's called "Liar's Draw" because there is an incentive to lie. Think about it- your opponent knows every card you draw if you're being honest. You can bluff to make it seem as if your hand is better or worse than it is. By the same token, if you tell the truth, and your opponent believes you a liar, you've just given yourself a turn of safety.
Trebuchet MS
Hmm, I see. However, a few things to note about this card interacting with Draw Phase Exodia. Draw Phase mechanics state that the normal draw happens before anyone can do anything. This card's multidraw effect appears to be able to modify the normal draw. Combined with the fact that Exodia's victory condition checks in between Chain Links and priority passing, it appears that the opponent can't even get to call out the other player if Exodia happens to be assembled. Seanoow
Welcome to the Darkworld. Talk about a card that would be more important than grapha in darkworld XD. Good idea, reminds me of the game "cheat" only there is a little more reason to lie if you are behind. That said, that amount of draw/discard would be really powerful in -darkworld- certain decks. Draconus297
Yeah, Exodia messes with a lot of drawing mechanics. I got the idea by playing a few rounds of BS with people I know. Can you believe I won with honesty, though?
- Minimania -
I'd feel a bit better if this were 2 cards, instead of 5, because you're basically drawing 1/8 of your Deck (given you play a 40 card Deck)
Draconus297
I guess I could set it to 3 . . .
