Silencerleader
I summon Jinzo but my opponent says he plays Icarus Attack. I say its the same thing as Trap Hole but he refuses and says to kill Jinzo and my face-down. We can't decide since no one is around...so whose right? Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
If you chain to a summon in any case, they acknowledge that the card was successfully summoned, and its effect comes into play. They could not activate Icarus Attack.
CrabHelmet
Only a trap that says it negates the summon (such as Solemn Judgment) will stop Jinzo. All other traps, including those that try to destroy him, cannot be used.
Orochi
the fact is: the effect of jinzo is continous, it is valid since he touches the field, the only way to counter it is with a counter trap card, because the spell speed of that trap card is faster than the effect (and even, the summoning) of jinzo... it's like the counter trap card affects jinzo BEFORE it reaches the field... icarus attack is a normal trap card, it can't be activated in response to the summoning of jinzo because it's effect is slower than jinzo's effect... read the rulebook on the section "spell speed"

b7hamma
Technically it's spell speed 1 yet "Continuous Monster Effects do not start a Chain, so thus cannot be chained to." so speed is irrelevant

Not only for ownership, as I said in another thread, but also in this occasion. The card may be a Spell Speed 1, but its effect is not any speed at all. CrabHelmet
They bothered to classify it as a spell speed? Why would they bother to do that when Spell Speed only matters in chains, and Continuous Effects are never in chains? *remembers this is Konami* Whatever. For all intents and purposes, it has no spell speed whatsoever.
