CLG Klavier
Please keep out any kind of design talk out of here. Don't even bother. So, Blackwings. Used to be THE swarm deck back at the beginning of 5D's days and were widely considered broken. Then they faded out in favor of better ZeXal era archetypes. But, they just got a few really good support cards in PP17 (Pinaka adds insane amounts of consistency, Kris is resilent, Hawk Joe is a good level 7 synchro unlike Armor Master, and Nothung is really useful as well) which might NOT necessarily bring them back into tier 1 status, but might give them the well-deserved boost they need nowadays. inb4Konami breaks Raid Raptors to the point of Blackwings being strictly worse
Expelsword
I don't think Blackwings were faded by ZeXal...
CLG Klavier
Maybe not directly, but the truth is, everything nowadays is...way faster than they are.
iCherries
They faded out because Shining Darkness was more than half shitty cards for them, then Starstrike Blast support was the final nail. The Blackwings in STOR were just insult to injury. Those, and Gale and Whirlwind getting hit. That said, thank god they're about as fast as they used to be in their prime again, sans Gale -1. But Nothung helping Whirlwind and Whirlwind being at 3 again. The Darksoul tuner clone, Hawk Joe, Kris, just so much <3 from PP17.Now if only we could work to make Black-Winged Dragon worth running to fulfill my obsession. Slinky
This is on the same level as Wind-Up Factory. ludicrous, stupid, and generates too much advantage for doing such a simple thing.
goddamnit names are a pain
It basically says "Special Summon one Blackwing from your deck" or "add one honest to your hand" and you can control multiples AND use them more than once per turn with Nothung. Lolkonami But it's kinda funny how it's at 3 again. The deck's so heavily outclassed that I suppose it makes it necessary.
Toffee. heraldry_lord
Please keep out any kind of design talk out of here. Don't even bother. This is the Card Maker forum, so this is a tall order I imagine, and as evidenced by some of the replies. That said, it's interesting that they decided to not make the latest support they threw at Blackwings terrible, and gave them back most of their themed toys, so they can now stand a fighting chance against all but the top meta dogs. inb4Konami breaks Raid Raptors to the point of Blackwings being strictly worse To be honest, I'd find it funny if we ever had a meta full of bird decks. XD We have 3 already, so it can happen with enough good support thrown at them.
Maeriberii Haan
Blackwing's too fragile. They can make damage-pushing boards like no tomorrow, but their boards are usually really fragile, and they have little to no longevity bar copious amount of Black Whirlwinds and maybe Pinaka and Vayu to a lesser extent. tbh, RR's pretty much a streamlined version of Blackwings, ignoring their extra deck/RUM shenanigans. More to the point and all, basically. Heck, even they have a pseudo Whirlwind.

Maeriberii Haan
Well, until the RR support hits in CROS, Strix's pretty much a Blackwing Support, and iirc they usually almost always try to play it early.
~ P O L A R I S ~
Blackwings aren't that fragile, Icarus Attack and Black Sonic are pretty decent insurance. With Kris and Hawk Joe's self-protection effects they're as resilient as ever and should be relevant today as a solid Tier 2 deck looking to capitalize once lists come around. They don't recover advantage very well if they get their Field nuked, especially compared to more modern Decks. That's how they're fragile, I believe. They can do crazy stuff and steamroll you, but if they start off too slow, or get nuked at the right time, they fall apart.
Maeriberii Haan
Yeah, what evilfusion said. It's really easy to break their board, and once you do, it's hard for them to recover.
