"A" Cell Mind Meld

Continuous Trap

Target 1 face-up "Alien" monster you control and 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; take control of the opponent's target. When your opponent's monster targeted by this card leaves the field, banish the other monster targeted by this card. If both monsters leave the field at the same time, put A-Counters on this card equal to the combined total of both monsters' Levels.

I originally made this for an RP, but it got tossed out for being too broken. This isn't an appeal to that (honestly it was intended as a last ditch card in the first place, one of those 'one turn and you lose' deals), but more as a showcase to see if it's up there with cards like Blaze Accelerator Magazine and Batteryman 9-V as a "resuscitation" card for the archetype. The A-Counter thing seems like a cherry on the top of a recyclable snatch steal, but I wanted a way to generate a lot of a-counters for the deck, since it really, REALLY needs counters to do stuff.

But you kinda ignore the concept behind Aliens now, which is abuse the ever loving crap out of Gol'Gar. With this card not destroying itself when the materials leave, nor do you lose control if the card is bounced, it allows Aliens to repeatedly counter plays as they're being made, and simply deny your opponent the ability to even play the game when they're losing a monster every one of their turns simply because you control an Alien and Gol'Gar. And you gain counters only by doing positive things, not negative. You control Ammonite, you steal whatever, make a high level Synchro and gain like, what, 5-8 counters? Oh yes, that's completely practical. But does it even matter when, again, you're stealing a monster every turn at no cost.

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't keep control of the monster if this card leaves the field. That's just not how continuous/face-up spell/traps work in this game. You don't keep your opponent's monster if you Snatch Steal it and Snatch Steal gets returned to the hand. Same with Brainwashing Beam, Mass Hypnosis, etc.

That being said, I think this card actually needs a way to be exploited by Gol'gar. This card doesn't achieve much more than a Brainwashing Beam would. Brainwashing Beam isn't as good at interrupting immediate plays as the target needs an A-counter beforehand, but that's still possible with something like Planet Pollutant Virus.

I can't currently think of a way to improve this card without completely changing, but I'll be thinking.
