Zerovirus
Mistress of Golden Strings, Xyz Rank 8 LIGHT Spellcaster 2700/1900 Effect: 2 level 8 monsters Once per turn, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 card on your opponent's side of the field; attach it to this card as an Xyz Material. Apply the following effects based on the types of cards attached to this card as Xyz Material. Monster: This card is unaffected by Monster effects. Spell: This card is unaffected by Spell effects. Trap: This card is unaffected by Trap effects. ------- Basically, the idea is that this card is spot removal in a more unique way. Mistress steals your opponent's cards, face-up or face-down, and attaches them to itself as xyz materials. If you steal spells or traps from your opponent's backrow, she'll gain immunity to the type of card you grabbed. The effect is similar to a Ptolemy for rank 8 decks, down to the card's attack, with all that entails. I tried to make this card a semi-staple for rank 8; it's got advantages and disadvantages compared to other staple rank 8 removal like Heliopolis or Giant Grinder. Heliopolis and GG can blow up more than one monster per turn, but Mistress is both more versatile as a sort-of-MST and more survivable than those two. Hopefully, it's not too broken or anything. Flash Flyer - Sakura
As it stands right now, this card is essentially a regenerating anime 101 that gains certain forms of immunity. Assuming you Xyz Summon it normally, it essentially has protection from opposing 101s, Castel, Exciton and other stuff. Yeah, your opponent could just chain BTS or Bottomless, but still making something that resembles anime 101 is a no-no. For reference, we mention this card; along with Exciton A LOT in this section, because of what they do. You need to add some form of restriction/drawback on it; otherwise this thing essentially generates more pluses than it's worth.
Cirrus
This would make way more sense as a Disigma-style effect (equip instead of attach as material).
Zerovirus
Thanks for the feedback!I'm a bit loathe on making the effect an equip-effect instead of an attach-effect, because one of the core ideas behind this card was that it should be able to swap out its defenses to adapt. Using the materials it has to indicate what it's immune to feels elegantly intuitive to me, and I'd like to keep that. It does make sense to give it some restrictions, though, now that I compare it with 101. Rank 8s are probably the third-easiest to churn out in large volumes after Rank 4 and Rank 5. What if I changed its card text to this? -------Mistress of Golden Strings, XyzRank 8 LIGHT Spellcaster2000/2500Effect:2 level 8 monstersOnce per turn, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 card on your opponent's side of the field; attach it to this card as an Xyz Material, then apply one of the following effects, based on the attached card's type.Monster: This card is unaffected by Monster effects until your opponent's next End Phase.Spell: This card is unaffected by Spell effects until your opponent's next End Phase.Trap: This card is unaffected by Trap effects until your opponent's next End Phase. You can only activate each of these effects once, while this card is face-up on the field. -------The card now only covers one out of three angles of attack at a time, and it no longer has the opportunity to remain permanently invulnerable against effect monsters. It's a more balanced combination of Felgrand and Giant Grinder now, I think; it's not as good at completely no-selling effects as Felgrand, and it's not as good at removing lots of stuff from your opponent's side of the field in a single turn as Giant Grinder.(I also changed its stats, because 2700 is comparable with Felgrand and was honestly probably too high for a card already good at doing everything else an ideal xyz does anyways.)
