Make it Good: Fortune Ladys

I love Fortune Ladys... and I really wanna make them playable... would these cards help?

(1) When this card is summoned: Excavate the top 3 cards of your Deck, If you excavate a "Fortune Lady" monster by this card's effect: Add it to your hand OR; Special Summon it. (2) You can only Special Summon 1 "Fortune Lady" monster with this effect per turn.

Fortune Ladys can pull amazing feats... but it gets really hard to get the deck rolling... these cards help get to plays faster. CnC appreciated!

Your first card's effect is worded very strangely. The fact it pulls advantage out of nowhere kinda bothers me as well.

The second is an upstart goblin that doesn't increase opponent's life total. You just discard it, fail to find, then banish it to draw. Legitimately broken. Card is far too exploitable.

Even though i love Fortune Ladies and any card that can support them, the one you made are no as good (sorry >.<)

 

The first effect is really badly worded, even though i'm far from being a OCG expert i think something like this would make more sense:

 

" When this card is Summoned: Excavate the top 3 cards from your Deck, choose 1 "Fortune Lady" monster from among those card to either add to your Hand or Special Summon it and shuffle the other cards back in to the Deck. You can only use this effect of "Fortune Lady Prophecy" once per turn. "

 

I really don't like the second card, the effects are just so "meh", i don't really have any ideas for this card, i like the field searching thing though.

No offense taken... it's hard to make effs that won't over power this archetype... seeing how they adapt so well to anything once they get rolling. So I had to be careful... with that in mind... i might had been over my head.

 

And yes... the wording came half way from confusion and half from trying to fit in the number eff thing (This is the first time i did it)

 

I was wanting to make the second card help the deck go faster... as in to get to combos... cuz after that you can make plus' for days... it really isn't something to amazing...

I see, dont worry, i once tried to fit the number things on the cards aswell (the result i got was pretty crappy i must say xD)

 

The thing about fortune ladies is if you manage to get Future Visions and Fortune lady Light you are good to go, but that's also why they end up being so weak in the current meta of the game. Fortune Ladies are a very slow working archetype that is too dependable of only 2 cards which you wont always draw immediately and once you get the Future Visions + Light combo, you will almost always be shut down by other much faster working archetypes. Also, once you use Fortune Lady Light effect once, soon as she returns she becomes sorta of a dead weight on the field, since on 11 turns she can ony reach 2400 ATK and DEF with so not worth the time.

 

My advice for you would be making something that can protect FL Light and Dark and, of course, Future Visions. and also make Fortune lady Light's effect a ted more abusable (like you could make a card that once on the Graveyard/Banished Pile you could Banish it/return to grave to return a Lady Light to the hand or something) oh and maybe make the Level increasing thing faster, there are a lot of ways you can go to support this archetype.

Those are some nice card ideas... I'll try my best. Fortune Lady Light hasn't really been my problem with the deck... although... more abuse is always nice XD

 

I usually rely on gagagashield for dark... and I abuse water and get max draw power... fire being for emergency's. Future Visions makes Wind miss timing which really sucks... so i don't run her.

 

As I stated... the main problem that I found with the deck is to get it rolling... lots of test plays with dev bot show that the deck can function well after that. But yes... meta is a problem.. but when isn't it?

 

I will take your advice and tweak as well as add cards.

Other then the already mentioned problems i noted one, which i think is the worst...

You didn't keep the classic Fortune Lady effect of increasing the card level and ATK/DEF each Standby Phase.

So yeah i'm sorry to say, but these aren't an exceptional support, no offense
