Alright, this was probably one of the biggest archetypes I've ever made until I changed it and now it's not. At first Malefections (Malevolent Infections; a pun on viruses as malware that infect) were just a small idea that started as an archetype that synchro-summoned using equipped monsters, but that was too close to Dragunities. So with Pendulum monsters, I toyed with the idea of Dark Synchro Summons and eventually the idea evolved into this cycle of Extra-Deck and Grave I got going with this archetype.
 
So a quick run down, Malefections are an archetype that focuses on Synchro and Xyz pendulum monsters, but doesn't focus on swarming early-game with Pendulum Shokun. Instead, you send Pendulum Monsters to the Extra Deck. Then, to Synchro Summon, you need to use a Tuner and a Pendulum Monster in your Extra deck with the same level of the tuner. Send both to the grave and you got your Pendulum monster. Then, to Xyz, you need to use the same tuners to Special Summon Pendulum Monsters from the grave with the same level, then immediately overlay with them. The trick here is that the Pendulum Monsters CANNOT be used as Xyz Material when they are Pendulum Summoned, and when they would go to the grave as a Material they are sent to the Extra Deck instead. This is the basic engine-mechanic of the Malefections. So let's dive into the cards.

● Synchro Monster: Add 1 "Malefection" Pendulum Monster from your deck or Graveyard to your hand whose Level is half of the Level of the monster destroyed.
● Xyz Monster: add 1 "Malefection" Tuner monster from your deck or Graveyard to your hand whose level is equal to the Rank of the monster destroyed.
● Pendulum Monster: target 1 Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls: destroy it.

You'll see more of this in my later stuff). I spent quite a bit of time on the OCG, but I'm sure I still missed stuff. Other than that, enjoy the Malefection! Again, I apologize for the card images. All cards were made using the TCG Editor: http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/329223-releaseyu-gi-oh-card-generator-application/ (it doesn't render cards in small sizes, let's put it that way). I would've shrunk them down, but the larger size... makes some of the effects a little easier to see.

Changes I made:
- Cut the archetype down to 16 cards. I don't think it can get any smaller from there without completely ruining the archetype's design. Now there are 4 pendulums, 4 tuners, and 4 extra-deck monsters. Levels of the pendulums and tuners changed to just be levels 4 and 5 to increase consistency and reduce difficulty of setting up.
- Changed the effects of the Pendulums to fit the shrinkage.
- Changed the effects to include generic support in the toolbox for Xyz and Synchro Summons; but to compensate you now need to Normal Summon in order to use the Tuners as extra-deck material. This prevents swarming.
- BCG's effect was fixed, since there was a small clause I missed that made him way too good. Also removed the downsides of synchro-summoning him since now you can't swarm the field like before. Stats were changed.
- Overcode's effect and stats were changed to better fit his place as a level 10 boss, as well as fit the overall theme of a virus-based deck. Stats were changed as well.
- MAL 9000's summoning conditions, effect, and stats were all changed to better fit the archetype, as well as fit as BCG's opposite and compliment.
- Z3D's effect was changed to better suit the theme of the archetype and his roll as Overcode's opposite and compliment. Stats were changed as well.
- The level 1 monsters, appropriate extra-deck monsters, and level 6/12 stuff were all removed as the Level 12 synchro was a little nuts and it doesn't make sense for there to be a level 12 synchro that is that easy to summon.
- ROOT_13 was cut. He was fun to make, but I don't like working with super OP level 12 boss monsters.
