Gimmick Puppet Nightmare Marionette
Rank 9 Dark
Machine/Xyz/Effect
3 Level 9 Dark Machine-Type Monsters
You can Xyz Summon this card by using a Rank 8 "Gimmick Puppet" Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material (Xyz Materials attached to that card also become Xyz Materials on this card). Once per turn during either players turn, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; target 1 monster your opponent controls: place 1 String Counter on it and take control of it. While you control a face-up monster with a String Counter on it: this card cannot be selected as a attack target and cannot be targeted by your opponents card effects. You can only control 1 face-up "Gimmick Puppet Nightmare Marionette".
ATK/2500 DEF/4000

This thing is essentially generic much like Doesn't Matter Dragon, but unlike Dark Matter, it has a far better generic use in Rank 8 decks. 2500 isn't too shabby for attack points, but 4000 def is massive, granted Dark Matter has 4k attack, but this thing steals an opponent's monster and becomes untargetable!  The major weakness of a card like Dark Matter dragon, despite the overwhelming atk, is that it has no inherent protection.

The flavor on the card is great! the idea of turning your opponent's monsters into your personal puppets is a very cool idea and expands on the flavor of Gimmick Puppet of Strings. As a result, I'm not too sure how this card can be balanced out effect wise since that would ruin otherwise great flavor. the only thing I can think of is lowering the defense a tad, maybe somewhere between 2500-3000 since your opponent cannot attack it while you have a monster with string counters on your side of the field. Speaking of which, maybe that should be worded to "if you control a monster with a string counter on it, besides this card,..." since it becomes pretty much permanently untargetable if you manage to place a string counter on it.

One thing is that this card has no effect that involves detaching material. You can possibly remedy that by splitting up its effect that places counters and steals into two separate effects, one requiring a detach. Either way, this card is really cool!

Enjoy.
