Don't you hate it when you lose things? [WRITTEN]

Sorry I posted it in the wrong place, it's been a while and I'm dumb and bad.

Mischievous Spirit of Lost Socks
LIGHT Level 2 Insect/Effect 200/200
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; return it to the Deck, and if you do, return this card to the Deck face-up. You can only activate this effect of "Mischievous Spirit of Lost Socks" once per turn. If you draw this face-up card: Special Summon it, and if you do, shuffle your Deck.

Mischievous Spirit of Lost Keys
DARK Level 2 Insect/Effect 200/200
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 Set card your opponent controls; return it to the Deck, and if you do, return this card to the Deck face-up. You can only activate this effect of "Mischievous Spirit of Lost Keys" once per turn. If you draw this face-up card; Special Summon it, and if you do, shuffle your Deck.

Mischievous Spirit of Disorder
WIND Rank 2 Insect/Effect 200/200
2 Level 2 monsters
Cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects while it has Xyz Material. During each of your End Phases: Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card and, if you detach a "Mischievous Spirit" card, put that card face-up in your opponent's Deck and shuffle it. If your opponent Special Summons a "Mischievous Spirit" monster: Put that card face-up in your opponent's Deck and shuffle it.

Frustration
Continuous Spell
When a Deck is shuffled by the effect of a "Mischievous Spirit" card: Inflict 500 damage to your opponent.

Frantic Searching
Normal Trap
Shuffle your Deck, then draw 1 card, or 2 cards if the top card of your Deck is now a face-up "Mischievous Spirit" card.

I'd love to use frantic searching, but no one would trust the other to shuffle without bias, thinking that they would "so happen" to shuffle a face up Mischievous Spirit to get it's extra draw. Usable in automatic duel systems but not irl.

Negative comments aside, I love these things. Silly little monsters that use the face-up-in-deck mechanic? Nice!

Seconding MetaSkipper. These are Fairies, pure and simple.

But I'm really liking these cards! Strong flavour, interesting effects, and they seem like the kind of thing you could maybe build a Deck around with the right support. Not sure Frustration is quite good enough to be viable as it is (especially since there are only a few Mischievous Spirits so far).

I'm a little concerned about the wording on "Frantic Searching." It seems to imply that you have to know in advance what the top card of your Deck is before you decide whether you draw one card or two. I know what you mean there, but just for the sake of clarity, maybe it'd be something like "draw 1 card, and if that card was a "Mischievous Spirit" monster, draw 1 card."? (Or check the PSCT thread in Advanced Cards, of course. I thiiiink that echoes the wording on real cards, but I don't pretend to be an expert - otherwise I'd be off in Advanced Cards :V)

Seriously, though, I like these a lot. Here's to more~ :3C

(@Tinkerer: Er, this kind of "draw with a condition" thing isn't exactly new. Couldn't you say the exact same thing about, say, Allure of Darkness? I think cards are typically written assuming all sides are playing fair :v)

Not really, since you shuffle before the draw and since the card you need to topdeck is face-up, it is fairly easy to slap the card on top and make it look a coincidence. Ultimately, you are right though. You have to (hope) assume both sides are playing fair. (I don't really get your comparison with Allure though.)

Actually, that's a good point - why return them to the Deck face-up at all? Don't the effects work just as well if they're face-down? Better, even, since that way you're never sure where they are? I guess then you'd Special Summon them as soon as you draw them regardless, but that might not be such a bad thing... IDK. It's true, I didn't notice those cards were face-up before... that could be problematic :v
