Tinkerer
Named Transmogrification You cannot conduct your battle phase or Special Summon other monsters the turn you activate this card. Target 1 monster you control. This card's name becomes the name of that target. Banish that monster. Special Summon from your Deck 1 monster that is up to 2 levels higher than the banished monster. This card cannot be negated. Basically, what I wanted for this card was to become the name of a monster so that it enables things like LV monsters, Gladiator Beasts... Cards that need specific monsters' effects to be Summoned. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that this enables way too much and I didn't hit the mark with what I'd meant. So, how would you go about changing the effect to be more like what I'd initially intended?
krakonfour
Umm. This is EXTREMELY overpowered. It's basically banish 1 monster you control, special summon any monster from your deck with a +2 level. It's basically the ultimate deck search. Just off the top of my head, I can transform any level 8 dragon into RDMD. I can use Angel of Zera and churn out Obelisk the Tormentor at the cost of 1 card. Any level 4 monster can become a Constellar Antares that searches you a card. The list goes on.
Tinkerer
... That doesn't help me. I said I knew this enables too much and I explained what I wanted. Do you have any suggestions on how to word it so it is more specific?
Flare909
Once per Duel; during your Main-Phase 2, banish 1 LV monster on your field, Special Summon a monster (from your Deck) that has the same Level or lower as the banished monster.
Radiant F.U.R.Y.™
You cannot conduct your Battle Phase this turn. You cannot Special Summon monsters this turn, except by this card's effect. Target 1 monster you control. This card's name becomes the name of that target. During your Main Phase 2: You can banish this card; Special Summon 1 monster from your hand or Deck whose name is in the effect of the monster that was targeted by this card. A bit harsh, in my opinion. Compare to the effect of http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Level_Up! My suggestion: You cannot conduct your Battle Phase this turn. Target 1 monster you control. This card becomes the name of that target. You can banish the target; Special Summon 1 "LV" monster from your hand or Deck with a level that is up to 2 levels higher than the target. Also, the entire "This card's name becomes the name of that target." part is completely pointless since this is a Normal Spell that goes to the grave immediately after activation. Tinkerer
Radiant FURY has it... closer except, well, backwards. what I'm aiming for with this card is: Changing the name of the card into a monster name. Summoning a monster from the deck that would normally be more or less exclusive to the name/effect of that monster. A fair restriction for it. Exs. using this card on Commander Covington to summon Machina Force. Using this on Summon Reactor SK- to summon Sky Fire Using this on a Gladiator Beast to summon another with its effect. Using this on a LV monster to summon a bigger form with its effect. Etc. Honestly, I don't think it's possible to word something in such a way without using a wall of text. If no one can figure out a way to do it, I guess someone could lock this.
Radiant F.U.R.Y.™
How do I have it backwards? Maybe if you explain what my effect does that differs from your desired result
Tinkerer
Well, your card looks at the effect of the targeted monster to determine what to summon. Whereas the effect I want looks at the effect of the monster to be special summoned and determines if it can be special summoned using the targeted monster. I dunno if I explained it well... Radiant F.U.R.Y.™
So instead of: During your Main Phase 2: You can banish this card; Special Summon 1 monster from your hand or Deck whose name is in the effect of the monster that was targeted by this card. Try this: During your Main Phase 2: You can banish this card; Special Summon 1 monster from your hand or Deck that lists a card targeted by this card in its effect.
