Lore: If you Ritual Summon "Black Luster Soldier" with a card effect that requires use of monsters, this card can be used as the entire requirement. The monster Ritual Summoned using this card gains 500 ATK for every Dragon-Type monster your opponent controls or is in their graveyard.

 

So, the other day, my friend Dehl, or Woloa, and I were discussing or own Yu-Gi-Oh! cards when the original Black Luster Soldier came up. I made a pun about it being weaker than Envoy of the Beginning and Envoy of the Evening Twilight, calling it Lack Luster Soldier. Dehl immediately suggested that I turn this joke into a card. This is the written form, which will be changed to actual card form when I find an appropriate artwork.

 

So, yeah. Feedback and suggestions are very much appreciated. ^^

Long story short, some people find Black Luster Soldier to be Yugi's equivalent to Kaiba's Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon.

When Black Luster If you Ritual Summon "Black Luster Soldier" with a card effect that requires use of monsters is activated, this card is treated can be used as a Level 8 monster for tributes the entire requirement. The monster Ritual Summoned using this card also gains the following effect: -Increase this monster's attack by 500 ATK for every Dragon-Type monster your opponent controls or is in their graveyard.

 

An appropriately underwhelming card to match its name. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I was sort-of expecting it to be a nerfed version of Envoy of the Beginning, but original Black Luster Soldier is already quite lackluster.

Thanks again for helping with the wording, Gadjiltron. ^^ The thing is, it isn't supposed to be used as an attacker, just as fodder for Black Luster Soldier, and as I explained to Woloa/Dehl, the effect comes from Black Luster Soldier sometimes being portrayed as BEUD's counterpart. I'm mostly referring to Duelists of the Roses for this.
