Mythology Based Yu-Gi-Oh (how would it be?)

I am currently working on a Mythology based Archetype. I also came across other threads about cards based on mythology. So, I was thinking: How would the Yu-Gi-Oh game be if it was based on Mythology?

 

My general understanding is that:

  1. This would definitely require a Lightning/Thunder Attribute as many famous deities are rulers of this element.
  2. It should have completely different Types to categorize all Mythological Feagures (heros, deities, monsters and more)
  3. There should be a secondary type featuring the origin of the mythical being (Greek, Norse, Hindu. Egyptian, Japanese, etc).

I don't know what else.

 

What do you think? Would you me excited by such an idea? How do you think the game should be?

 

This discussion is based on the idea that this is a new card game using the mechanisms of the original YGO game. So please discuss based on that. Do not compare with the existing game and its cards.

If I understand it well... you other thread was actually about changes that could be realistically implemented into the game, and this one is about how we'd make the game out to be if given it from scratch?

I'll hold back on that part of the topic until your reply for now.

 

As for the mythology part of it, I'm not sure I fully understand how that is but Yugioh has plenty of mythological stuff for its own world. Though it depends if you want the magical aspect of the anime/manga world which have 5 generations with alternate lines each as well as plenty of magical items, gods, and stuff like that, or the legends actually in the cards themselves.

On the latter, the game does have a huuuuge chain of tails. You probably already know that card arts connect and intertwine in a network of stories.

 

The Duel Terminal series's story involves tons of archetypes, and the Warrior and Gagagigo stories also grasp over multiple other things on their way. Is that what you mean there?

The previous topic was "how it should have been from the start". This was obviously a wrong take on it as there is no point in discussing it at this point. That is why all answers I got were based on how the game already is and if it can be CHANGED which was not the question.

This one is how it WOULD be (not should be), not with the false mythology made within the YGO story line but with actual mythology that exists in real life records.

There's already a TCG dedicated specifically to IRL mythology. It is called "Mitos y Leyendas" though I don't know if English-speaking countries have even heard of it.

I had no idea about the card game you mentioned.

I meant, what if YGO was exclusively for mythologies. What types and attributes would it have. What card types and summon mechanics would it use and so on.

I read all comments properly. And most answers mentioned both "starting anew" and "changing" but the base of discussion was on change. Anyway, this thread as about YGO if it was exclusively based on mythologies.
