·Toot Posted May 20, 2015 Report Share Posted May 20, 2015 When this Card is Summoned, you can add 1 "Pyramid of Light" OR 1 "Sphinx" Card from your Deck to your hand. During either player's turn you can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard: Destroy 1 Spell/Trap Card you control. If a "Sphinx" monster you control would be destroyed or targeted by a card effect, you can Banish this card from the Graveyard: Negate that effect. Armoire Posted May 20, 2015 Report Share Posted May 20, 2015 Oooh. Sphinx support; that is neat. It searches the Pyramid or a Sphinx, so it can make drawing either of those not a dead draw. Also makes Pyramid of Light a wonderful Castel bait, considering you can chain the second effect to it for further combos. But the third effect is really what sells this; it protects your monsters that are vulnerable to almost all types of removal. tl;dr This card speeds up Sphinxes and increases their playability, offering more combos. If a "Sphinx" monster you control is targeted by or would be destroyed by a card effect: You can banish this card from your graveyard; Negate that effect. You can only use the effect of "Lost Ape" once per turn.While it is refreshing to see some love to the Sphinx deck, the one thing I don't like is how it will not negate effects that would cause Pyramid of Light to leave the field. I think you should change the MST-like effect of this card to something more like a more-encompassing Effect Veiler that negates a card effect that would cause Pyramid of Light to leave the field. Tinkerer Posted May 20, 2015 Report Share Posted May 20, 2015 Yay! Anubis.dek + Exxod.dek support! Yeah, I only wanted to pop in and remind ya that Exxod also runs on Sphinxes as well. This would make an interesting tech for that. If you do want to go further down that route, I would recommend making the card EARTH Attribute.
