T.G. Cyber Magician

I was looking over the T.G. monsters to see how the deck plays. I heard people say that this card I'm posting only has one good card to use its effect with, but I notice after reading the card more closely that you can treat T.G. Tuners as known Tuners giving more possibilities with tuning from the hand. And instead of putting a random Level 1 non-tuner to summon T.G. Recipro Dragonfly, you could just tune a this card with a copy of itself from that hand.

I am pretty certain that you are misinterpreting the wording. Basically, it is just a really wonky way of saying that the monsters in your hand are to fill the non-tuner requirement. Since it is still a synchro summon, and it does not actually change them into non-tuners, I am pretty sure you idea does not work.

Unless a card specifically states it can use tuners as non-tuners, it cannot.

 

Cyber Magician can't sub like you're trying to do.

Compare this cards text the Tuner monster Eccentric Boy. It also lets you tune from the hand but it doesn't say the "use as non-Tuner" thing Cyber Magician does. So it doesn't make sense to have this card point out non-tuner and not have Eccentric Boy point it out.

I also just looked up that Phantom King Hydride can count itself as a non tuner monster and while Cyber Magician says in both times when this card came out clearly says "you can use "T.G." monsters in your hand as non - Tuner Synchro Materials".

Eccentric Boy could be used with a level 6 EARTH tuner (if one even exists) in hand to summon Gottoms. Pretty sure that is the only difference.

Did you even read Hydride?

If you use this card you control for a Synchro Summon, you can treat it as a non-Tuner monster.

It SPECIFICALLY STATES it can treat a tuner as a non tuner.

Cyber Magician doesn't.

Eccentric Boy's lore is older, pre-PSCT and doesn't have the same clarifications as Cyber Magician. So it is not a good example.

Just saying, the original print of Cyber Magician says non-tuner as well and it's pre-PSCT.
