Resident Fascist
Yeah so, this thing is pretty relevant right now and it's set to become more relevant when we get Magicians. Koko pointed out earlier in a Skype call that Burning Abyss is one of the best decks to actually use this with, since you don't really give much of a sheet if you can't activate Spells, and Virgil is a Spellcaster. Technically Nekroz can play it because Valkyrus is a Caster but I would think it's really bad if your guy dies and you can no longer establish any sort of presence. Completely locks out Qliphort and Nekroz, which are probably the best decks right now with Shaddoll variants being a close third, and it stops them fusing, although they have a decent number of casters as far as I'm aware. I think now is a good time to discuss the best field spell in our game. Also please no talk of game health, I'm kind of getting sick of every topic devolving into a shitfest of people jabroniing over whether a card is "unhealthy" or not. Maeriberii Haan
Also on the BA part, Downerd is a really relevant thing too and BA's plethora of traps help it to protect the Downerd/Virgil and stuff.
DuelSpectre
Let's talk about game health.. *shot* Nothing I can really say about this card, except that it is extremely unh...*shot* -------- But seriously, there's not much to discuss about this card besides the fact that it's anti-meta. Resident Fascist
But seriously, there's not much to discuss about this card besides the fact that it's anti-meta. There's a large amount to discuss. Anti-meta doesn't really exist outside of dedicated funk your deck builds, which tend to only have one positive matchup against the deck they're built to win against. Always felt the name was a bit of a misnomer, how can a card be the antithesis of something it's part of? The amount to discuss with this card is less about the card itself and more how it interacts with others. Outs to this card, what decks can play it, what decks just fold to it. This is part of the problem when a topic turns into a rampant discussion about game health, you lose all sense of what you are talking about and basically just throw excrement at each other until a mod comes in and locks the topic. That being said, I did have a dumb idea of brewing up some silly Rank 4 Pendulum list that made Key Beetle and put it onto this to make sure it stuck. It wasn't really a good idea, but if there was a 1 card Key Beetle engine that the top decks could use, I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing it in the top decks, since this card is honestly insane. Depends how Pendulum heavy our next formats to come will be that will determine this card's ultimate usefulness. I will say that Fairy Wind drop this against Qliphort is an insane blowout unless they also have an out like Galaxy Cyclone. I mean that was basically obvious, but Galaxy Cyclone is probably the best out to this card as it can serve a function before it drops and thus isn't completely dead if they don't have Secret Village. Ultravires
Nekroz are starting to play this too.
ihop
The timeframe for it being good has already passed, unfortunately. There's a pretty major issue with Village and that's that it's really easy for Nekroz to adapt to. All the successful Nekroz builds at ARG Syracuse mained or sided either Dance Princess or Zefrasaber, with quite a few people siding Hands and a couple siding Typhoon. It's pretty terrible if your opponent's prepared for it because Nekroz would lose to a Zefrasaber/Dance Princess if they were playing it unless they have the Zefrasaber/Dance Princess themselves, BA don't lose out too much but it means they need to make Downerd/Virgil as soon as possible and Shaddolls need to normal summon a Squamata or summon Winda. It's a card with a lot of potential and if the format stays similar it's likely we'll see it popping up again in a month or two, but it's use really does come and go like a flash. edit: Oh, and for the record, none of the top decks at Syracuse played Village. Neutrality Man
The Magispecters are going to be WIND Spellcasters. They also share the following effect: Monster effect: ... Cannot be targeted by, or destroyed by an opponent's card effect.and since they're all L3 Pendulums, with Cat and Raccoon searching on each Summon, this Field is pretty much always live for them. Slinky
If the current majispecters are going to be the main support, then they don't have much hope anyway, and will need all the help they can get.
ihop
Magispecters seem like a fairly good deck to me but they already have a field spell that's pretty important for them. Not to mention, they'll be released after a banlist so Nekroz won't even be relevant anymore, most likely.
